I currently work at a website building/maintaining agency. It is a very small business and I do a lot of heavy lifting on the project management side as well as monitoring our maintenance section (support inbox). I have been at this company for 18 months and it is my first job out of college. The pay is okay (37,500 currently living in WI) but for the amount of work I do even outside of the graphic and UI/UX- I feel that I am deserving of more. What can I do to get a primarily UI/UX position?

I’m a designer with about 6-7 yrs of experience (combination of in-house, agency, and freelance). I’m currently working in-house as the sole designer for a brand and making $66k.

On any given day, I do e-mail design, web/UI design, digital design/apps, social assets, events, video/motion, illustration, print, and packaging/display. The workload is crazy and I feel pretty undervalued (currently looking for something else).

Thoughts? Am I right to feel taken advantage of here?

Most of junior UX designer role asked for 2-3yoe. So, I volunteered at a startup to at least show that I’m working on something.. the entire process has been quite slow due to the stakeholder has been so busy fundraising and ceo said they are hiring developer (for the past 2months...). And just yesterday they announced the company is going on hold. I’m lost how I should present it on my resume / what to do with mid-fi fidelity prototypes that hasn’t been user tested.. Consulting x Design: For those who straddle these two worlds (Deloitte, Accenture, McKinsey, EY, PublicisSapient, Slalom etc), I’m curious to hear how your experience is going in your world.
