Hi all,
Does your organization have a good work-life balance, especially for IDs? Or do you know any such organisation? Currently I am working for more than 12 hours a day. I am a mother of one year old, hence, want to switch to the organization, which has less work pressure.

Anyone at Deloitte know how to view utilization?
I was laid off during Deloitte‘s mass layoff in July of last year. I have worked as an independent contractor since and projects haven’t been consistent at the client I’m working for. I’m looking to get back into a big firm and was seeing if anyone would be able to refer me or help get my foot in the door. I was a business analyst for 1.5 years at Deloitte and have several years of additional experience which I’d be more than happy to share.

“Lets not reinvent the wheel” - the amount of times i heard that and we still went on to reinvent the wheel is staggering

“Let’s not boil the the ocean” but then proceeds to boil the ocean
I came here to say this. I have a client who constantly says this, then asks us to do more. It makes me grind my teeth.
LOL what🤣 I have never heard that before
FWIW: the full saying is “too many cooks spoil the stew”. A2 is on it meaning too many people are providing input, the other is that throwing more bodies at a problem doesn’t fix it.

Just heard this one today

“We have too many Chiefs and not enough Indians on this proposed team structure”.. while the team actually included people of Indian origin lol
Haha that is wrong term to use in IT these days. Might as well use too many cooks in the kitchen...

“Personal brand” when used to describe just who I am 🤷🏼♀️ yes, who I am is completely an intentional curation to be sold as a “personal brand”
Lol. Brands are for products. Selves are for humans.

Let us help you see the forest through the trees by picking off the low hanging fruit first instead of trying to boil the ocean so we can hit the ground running when rubber meets the road.

An old boss in the Army used to say “don’t tell me about the labor, I just want to see the baby.”
Glad that one’s not common in the corporate world.

It took me forever to figure out "high level" = broad perspective. Always figured "high level" equivocated to more in-depth discussion
I don’t think equivocate means what you think it means here lol
That's amazing lmao.
Circle back, reach out, connect, and touch base all suck. Out of pocket is catching on now and is also stupid.
Sometimes I use a few of these in the same sentence as a joke. “We’ll circle back and reach out to touch base on this topic” 😂😂
OP, what is cringe worthy about your saying? It makes a great point that you can’t always just add people and reduce a timeline.
OP I think you missed the point completely. The saying refers to patience. It takes 9 months to make a baby, and even if you had 9 mothers, you couldn’t reduce the time. I think I’ve heard Buffett say this in long-term investing context.

9 women can’t make a baby in a month is officially my new favorite saying
But I can try to help with that!!!
