Need to get back to staffing agency today on new rate. Client is another consultancy which has the client relationship. Not ideal but it is what it is. Before I interviewed, agency told me it’d be a 40 hr/week project at $90/hr 1099. Now consultancy is saying the approved SOW is only 20 hrs/week. I asked if they’d be willing to offer a higher rate and they seem willing to entertain so I’m wondering how much I should ask? My usual rate is $120. Should I start there or higher?

I am currently on maternity leave. When I am back to work baby will be 6 month and it will be a busy season. Is it frowned upon if I leave early to see my baby and than work from home until late?

I’ve recently come to realize, that while my boyfriend (or most men for that matter) maintain a network of people where they discuss their profession, economy, markets, emerging trends, job opportunities and pay scales, my own network of female friends has revolved around discussing fashion, men, kids, politics, work stress, health etc.

Need advice. Been with my SO for over 5 years, live together and not married.
