How and why to learn upper division Mathematics and statistics. I turn into a math nerd parody of a Baptist Minister; which I mean as a huge complement. Passion, energy, auditory style with conviction. Sounding like you have absolute faith in the irrefutable truth you are speaking of and it's power to change the world and individual lives. And all the good people say...

For PE I play this game called “the bone”. When the class is extra crazy and loud I play this game. They LOVE it. The object of the game is to get the bone from the dog guarding it in the middle without detection. This game can be played in the classroom or gym. We all sit in a big circle with a chair in the middle and an object (the bone)underneath. I put a blindfold on the person sitting in the chair in the middle (the dog guarding the bone). Everyone must be silent. I point at the quietest student to take a turn to crawl or sneak out to steal the bone. The person in the middle will point and bark in the direction of any threatening noise they hear. They get 3 barks. If a student gets caught they must return to their spot and I pick another student to give it a try. If a sneaky student is successful stealing the bone and making it back to their original spot they get to be the guard dog. It’s a really fun game and it’s amazing how good they can hear when they’re blindfolded. It’s also amazing how quiet they are because they wanna be picked to sneak out in the middle. It’s a win win win situation

Got a bit too drunk at a work happy hour. Nothing embarrassing happened but I definitely blacked out and could’ve said stuff that I wouldn’t have said sober. Everyone else was also drinking quite a bit, so it was fine but not ideal and I’ve just been ashamed. Lesson learned. This happen to anyone? How do you get over the shame/anxiety of “what happened?”

I went on a weekend hiking trip with a male friend who I thought was platonic, assuming we’d split everything 50/50. I booked activities and car rental totaling $700, while he booked the hotel. During the trip, he tried to hook up, and I made clear I wasn’t interested. It made the rest of the trip awkward, but even more so when I said we should split expenses evenly…and then he told me the hotel cost $1800 for two nights. Con’t

Yesterday was a good day. I was really impressed with myself. I woke up at 5, practiced dance lessons, did two water colors, made breakfast and tea, got to work by 10, put in 8-10 hours of solid work and then came home. It’s been ages since I painted or danced. However today, I slept till 7:00, did not work out or have food. Still got to work by 10 and did 8 solid hours of work. Some days are good and some are just okay. And that is okay. Trying to build on my good days and we all can. :)

Who has taken a huge risk and failed? LinkedIn, business forums, and media love to normalize the “all-in” risks that led to reward, but who has a true failure story? How did or how are you working to come back from it? Life lessons exist in failure. Sharing these could hopefully help someone else facing the same crossroads.

B) Will CISSP or relevant cyber certifications help?
