HI folks,
My current CTC is very low with respect to my YOE. CTC : 5.2 lpa
YoE : 4
Tech stack : Python , MLops
But now my manager has initiated H1B visa for me and the visa process is in progress.
Is it worth to wait till the H1B process completes to work in U.S (or) should i make a switch immediately. .

Started my career with 10k and now after 7 years it's 80k
I want to join organisation that path my career direction into the right way.
Thanks everyone for being so candid! I enjoyed going through the stats and hopefully you will too. See the photo below which summarises stats from all the valid comments (i.e., which had both the per month salary and experience). I have excluded the top #1 and bottom #5 (all five were very close) in some metrics to do away with outliers. Total valid responses - 102, excluding outliers - 96.
1. The average person amongst us takes home Rs.84k per month (I thought that's pretty good)
2. The median person amongst us takes home Rs.60k per month (shows the inequality)
3. Average salary per year of experience is Rs.20k per month - shows how so many of us are earning very little compared to the years we have put in
4. For most of us (almost 3/4th), 1 lakh per month remains the glass ceiling
5. An average person amongst us will break the glass ceiling after approximately 4.3years of experience
6. 18 of us who have worked for 1y or less earn an average 10k more than 32 of us who have been working for anytime between 1y and 3y! (Salaries rising with time?)
7. The big step up in salaries occur when we get into 10-15y experience bracket from 7-10y bracket
All details in the photo below.
I am no expert at life or in work to give any words of wisdom but (remember anything said before 'but' doesn't matter? Anyway..) I will say to not take these numbers too seriously beyond 5 minutes. Don't let it get into your head if you're way above the average numbers, don't let it bog you down if you're way below. Those above, as you have seen this years, it takes only an invisible virus to get the better of any of us and those below should be inspired to change things for the better. Differentiation is equality when it's attributable to talent, so differentiate yourself.
All the best to us.
Awesome feedback by Facebook 1. We need more humans like you in this World.
This post is giving me depression. How to report it🤣🤣🤣
Get an offer from another company.. that way, you can then tell/report to your current company that you were depressed with what you were being paid.. they'd pay you more in case they need you !
54k, 3.5 years. Looking at this comment section, can clearly say that pay disparity is quite real!

Some of the bad decisions I took in starting of the career cost me almost 2 years
But I will work hard and will improve

I have close to 3 years experience in ML
Good in Python,Math,Statistics
I will be thankful to them if anyone refers me
🙏🙏
You have 3 years of experience in ML/DL, so no doubt you deserve way more that this. You should be drawing atleast 1L a month in right company. Don't compromise with lesser pay for the shake of security.. there are tons of companies those give good pay with security as well.
