I’d love to know what a creative build is!
Jargon term for expanding on a creative concept or idea proposed in a meeting and/or brainstorm to meet client objectives. Commonly used as “To build off that concept, I would add x, y, z.” And another colleague might jump in and say, “Another build for creative consideration could be a, b, and c.” Just gets a bit exhaustive when people stop being creative and essentially start repeating and paraphrasing what was said before them.
Jargon. You cant limit “creative builds” if you want good ideas in the end. Arbitrary limitations are why creatives quit on account-led shops.
Haha. Sorry we’ll never get to chat through concepts together.
Yeah, “let’s table this session. I’ve got a super important check in with my client’s assistant later...”
Lols, Creative Director 3. If only I had time to go to spin class. Managing global portfolios is not a 9-5 job. Save a seat for me at your next Soul Cycle, I’m sure that’s your favorite place!
I think it’s fair to say that we’ve got a certain amount of time to get through stuff. But only towards the end when concepts are being fine tuned. It’s difficult to “limit” the creative process especially early on and you risk missing out on good ideas.
I find the idea of a hard and fast rule around limiting builds to be problematic and too formulaic. But I understand why you want to avoid going over the same thing multiple times. Can someone moderate the discussion and say ‘we’ve covered this aspect already, what other angles are missing?’
Can't limit creative. Can limit creatives though. It depends on if it is productive or repetitive. No hard fast rule. Part of your job is to shift through the difference.
CD2, thanks for proving my point.🤨
