What exit options are there for a second year corporate associate? This life is not for me and I’m willing to take a pay cut.

I recently went from an industry role/startup craziness to consulting. I was brought in at a consultant level due to not having formal consulting experience, but I am currently functioning as a senior consultant on my first project. What are the pros and cons to taking on more responsibility in this situation? Genuine question as I am new to a consulting environment.

Any big 4 or national firms hiring experienced associates in LA? Seems like all firms are mass hiring except the big ones.

How do the exit ops compare between a top global strategy consulting firm (non-MBB) with a wide range of competencies vs. a boutique firm focused on due diligence and investor support?

Considering moving to the boutique, with the intention of eventually exiting to industry.

Currently a Big4 D with 12+ yo tenure focusing on M&A Integration. Just had my second kid and looking for significantly better WLB (I.e., close laptop after 5pm with few exceptions).

Have offers on the table from 2 smaller (500-1000p) consultancy firms that reached out to me for a Transformation Director role. Both promise a much better culture and WLB. Both expect significant growth over the next few years with ditto opportunities.

Looking for perspectives from those that made a similar move.
