I know this sounds cliche, but build real relationships. Get to know the person (not just the company) you're talking to, spend a couple minutes whenever you talk to them to ask about family/interests/etc. Invest in the relationship.

Great advice and not cliché- when I first started in sales I was way too worried about being PC all the time. People just want to talk to people

When following up sold/unsold clients keep it creative, don’t rely on 1 tool.

Feeling very down today. In my 10 years of teaching I have had furniture thrown at me, students destroy my classroom, call me a F@&ing B!+@= to my face, & more. But we are always able connect at some level. I get those "tough kids" year after year because I am good at building positive relationships over time. These same kids who would fight with me, would fight *for* me in a heartbeat.
But this year is so different. They will steal from me and lie to my face with zero remorse or care. Over it.

Hey everyone! I need some advice. I’ve accepted an offer for a new job, but I’m in a bit of a rush to get out of the position I’m working right now. I start the new job July 18. My job now doesn’t care about their employees, and it’s a health risk for my family and I due to unsafe COVID policies (i.e. forcing you to come in even if you’re sick, making you use PTO for COVID even if working from home, etc). Is there anything short term I can do until July? Or should I stay until then?

Hey everyone! I am a student finishing up my last year at university. I was working in real estate and then became a loan officer for 2 years. I made a switch from mortgages to a food supply wholesaler as a regional sales/project manager managing the accounts for a couple states. I thought it would be pretty steady compared to how volatile interest rates and the finance realm is rn. Can anyone offer insight into the food supply market right. I have a resume question!

I have 10 plus years of sales experience and 7 in an AE senior AE role however, when applying to positions that I know I am more than qualified for my resume is getting bot rejected before it even gets viewed. I am not sure why other than I do not have my b.a as I decided to pursue sales full time while in college and did not finish. This has not stopped me from getting interviews before , any ideas on how to get around the bots?

I’ve been a sales rep at two different staffing agencies and leadership in both companies say things like “staffing doesn’t sleep” or “the staffing business is around the clock, you’re dealing with people and need to be always on and available” as if it’s different than other sales roles.... but isn’t that the case everywhere?

When I began in Enterprise Technology Sales (then Software, then Cloud), there used to be about an 80% success rate - those who met or exceeded their annual sales goal. The success rate now appears to be in the 10 - 20% range.
