Do Data Engineers generally get much lesser CTC than Data Scientists and Software Developers at Top Product Based companies?

I am only getting 18.5 LPA (including RSUs) at a Top Product Based Company for 4 YOE, whereas many of my peers are getting 24-30 LPA for my experience level at my company. (some even lesser than me)

People are getting much more than me in Devops and Software Development - Both Frontend and backend.

Why are head hunters reaching out to me with middle market investment banking/consulting roles when I am in audit? Not even a CPA. They claim they hire auditors from big four and train them from ground up. Would I be stupid not to ask for more information? Or don’t waste my time. Senior in audit. Thx.

M1 in specialty tax group as of 10/1 and just got a second (& final) offer for a fully remote industry tax job where the base salary is $19k lower than my KPMG salary after taking into consideration the mid-year raise but still 6 figures. Industry offering a hefty signing bonus and is supposed to have more WLB. Also cheaper health insurance premiums and 27 paid days off. What would you do?

International tax folks who successfully exited from PA, where did you end up going?

Taking a new role in industry after 2 years in public. It’s about a 70% increase from current salary and between 25-30% increase from expected salary after promotion to Senior (find out later today what my new figure would have been). It’s a remote position making solid money and interesting work/field. Just worried I’m leaving public too soon. Raises will be 2-4% in new role until promotion so I will catch up in public about 3-4 years from now. Thoughts?
