I went to culinary school. Took some time off college to go after getting accepted into my desired training program. Now I'm in consulting, but maybe someday I can do some work relating to the culinary arts. Not likely but one can dream!

I would say practice organization skills! Most people don't multi-task effectively, and so take a lot longer making a dish than an experienced cook, and also don't make life easier for themselves (e.g. they would walk over to the trash can each time to throw sth away when peeling fruits/veg instead of having a bowl on the table to catch all of it, and make one trip). Account for all your ingredients and make sure you have a game plan before you begin, so you don't realize you are out of butter halfway through, or have to frantically break down an onion because you already started to saute and forgot to slice it.

The French have a culinary term for being ready and organized before starting, called mise-en-place. Everyone, including beginner cooks should practice it!

Hello all I have two questions. I’m looking at an offer from Bank of America through a contracting company (Tek Systems). Even without the benefits / sign on bonus / whatever else, it’s about a 20% pay bump from about $120k to $150k per year. The recruiter told me they usually convert contractors at about 4-6 months. Any thoughts on BofA conversions? Second question - it’s in a cybersecurity (I’m currently in aerospace). Has anyone else made that move?
