What’s your take on working and responding to emails “after hours”?

If you are in biglaw, is there an “after hours”?

I do not do this. I'm not paid for that time and I value my personal life. I encourage my colleagues to do the same.

It is expected until about 9:00 p.m.

It depends. Are you salary? At that point, you're always "on" per se. That being said, though, you have to be able to disconnect from your day.

So says the Manager

I do not work after I have logged out. However, sometimes if something needs immediate attention, then I do make exceptions.

I check my work email once or twice on my phone in the evening. 99% of the time I reply on my phone with something that punts until later. (E.g., “Thank you. We’ll take a look, and follow-up.”).

I turn all alerts off. If you’re a millennial or younger, you’re likely going to check your phone enough to be reasonably responsive. You don’t need something popping up on the screen every time you get an email.

So Williams announce multi year deal with Albon, are adding themselves into the hype around Piastri by not calling out the elephant in the room - Latifi. What’s next?

My gut is saying:

Alpine: Ocon & Ricciardo
McLaren: Norris & Piastri
Alfa Romeo: Bottas & Schumacher
Williams: Albon & De Vries
Haas: Magnussen & ? (Zhou?)

* Gasly/Ocon: not friends
* Zhou was a Renault/Alpine driver
* Zak wants US driver? (Logan)
* Williams 🔄 Renault? Nick De Vries (Mercedes driver 😬)

Is being a legal recruiter very cut throat? Obviously you're competing with recruiters from other recruiting firms, but given it's a commission based model, I would think there's some level of cut throatness even within the same recruiting firm. The fact that it seems like the recruiter market is pretty saturated, as well, probably doesn't help? Any insights/experiences would be appreciated, thanks!
