Is anyone here struggling to pay for Netflix?

Mine is simple: thinking while I am home, working, on calls, etc that I am not “really working” and am available to:
See who is at the door?
Identify this “funny noise the car is making”
Help her fix lunch
Start a “we never talk during the day” conversation
Walk in, stare at me during a call and ask “what’s wrong”
This was never an issue on Friday’s, as this was normal....every other day, now it’s the new normal!
Are you me?
No knock on the closed door, just walks into my office and can clearly hear I’m talking on a call, “oh are you on a call???” And if she wants me to help with something and I say I have a call in 2 minutes...”can you reschedule?” All I can do is laugh at times.
My husband still goes into the world for work and has subconcious expectations that I have dinner planned and prepped and the house clean while I "work" from home. If he gets home and I haven't planned out dinner or if there are dishes in the sink, he'll passive aggressively slam doors or cupboards and cuss under his breathe. Then proceed to pout for a few hours by himself. All this happening while I am STILL working. I've had enough.
Kicked my SO out before quarantine. So glad. I’ve had the most peaceful recalibration since March 1 and counting. Otherwise, I would be a nervous wreck. Mental Health Month...a Year would be more appropriate.
Complete lack of boundaries between home and work now. I didn’t want to invite my employer into my home but they have barged on in, overstayed their welcome, and refuse to leave!!
My husband interrupting my calls constantly for super important updates like “We’re out of grapes” or “It stopped raining” or my personal favorite “What do you want to do for dinner”... at 10 am
MckC2 yesss exactly that!! And then sits down in the arm chair looking at me expectantly though she has nothing to add further...
People not muting when using the bathroom, eating, breathing too heavily
People pinging me making their problems my problems instead of trying to figure it out first
O do you mean during covid??
Managers taking advantage of employees knowing we don’t have anything else to do and in turn, giving us excessive volumes of work 🥰
This stupid thing called a phone, yeah I’ve been documenting all of this with several coworkers and if it counties we are reporting it to hr
Getting more calls than normal, being micromanaged more
My day is literally that with 1 hour intervals, so much wasted time.
People on speakerphone banging away at their keyboard right next to the mic.
My husband yelling while playing video games! 🙄 The other day he had had a couple of drinks. He crashed his gaming self (on a horseback🙈) into a tree 😆 and started yelling. I don't know what to say 🙄😅😠
@McK6 - to each their own!
Roommate who keeps eating baked beans and ripping ass every 5 minutes 😡
My car randomly screaming during the day
Lol, I mean cat*
WFH 24/7 makes me a bit distrait
My wife and kids.
This is a sad reality.
My roommate has the most annoying laugh. And she watches sitcoms throughout the workday 🤦🏻♀️
I am so sorry for you but this is hilarious. It sounds like a bit from a sitcom
My boyfriend is so loud on his calls. He’s basically screaming. And then typing on his mechanical keyboard.
M3 maybe our men should be friends so they’re not lonely and we can get some thinking done 😭
When my mom takes forever bringing more meatloaf. I never know what she's doing up there
You want to go hit up a funeral later?
I type with purpose
Typing with Pride. Like you mean it.
On a conference call, Some people sitting miles away from their mic and others sitting literally inside their mic and making me either cringe at their loud voice or curse at their low voice.
Over-scheduling of team review and discussion meetings. I’ve been on daily wrap up calls that have been WAY too long bc it seems like everyone is just reporting out as much as they can to prove they’ve been working on something during the day. Am I️ being too naive to think I️ don’t need someone else’s play-by-play each hour? I️ trust they did their work, I️ don’t want to sit in on 1+ hour calls to hold people accountable
I spend at least an additional 10 hours a week sending superfluous emails and having pointless meetings because my client doesn’t think I do anything if she can’t see me.
Holy shit, my wife does that - types like she is going to smash the fukin keyboard through the desk. Love her!!!! ❤️😂
Yeah, they're not quiet, but they don't have to be insanely loud. But they do feel so good.
The never ending virtual happy hours and those hideous virtual backgrounds - they cause more of a distraction than anything.
