Startup selling SaaS software applications - annual contract value consisting of platform fee, professional services & consumption fees.

I have 7 Sales Directors, each with $2.5m net new quota.

It varies wildly between companies and even within roles inside a company.
My quotas at Microsoft were $125million, $195million, and $440million for my three years there.

SaaS cybersecurity start-up. 50k employee prospects. Hunter + 1 existing customer. $1.6MM subscription licenses.

I’m an associate trying to exit biglaw and there is a current job posting for in-house counsel at one of the firm’s smaller clients. I’m tempted to apply, but scared it’s going to get back to the client’s shareholder contact that I’m looking. Anyone with any insight on this? In a similar vein, has anyone been honest about looking for exiting opportunities with shareholders such that they maybe can help place you somewhere strategic for them and the pipeline of work in the future?

I was offered a partnership at a small firm I used to work at before my current also small firm. We had come to terms and I expected to inform my current firm. To my surprise, my current firm made me a significant offer to stay. Not a partnership, but making more money and better benefits. I’m torn because the other firm is under the impression I’m coming in as a partner. But I can’t turn away from the significant offer I have from my current firm, where I enjoy working. Recently joined a consulting firm and have a corporate AmEx now. I am planning on paying the $95 fee to get the points from corporate expenses. I also have only a chase sapphire preferred. Is it worth picking up a Gold or Platinum card to pool all the points in one place? I eat out a lot and mostly redeem points for statement credit or the occasiaonl hotel room (use Marriott). I’m taking the SPHR in less than 2 months and haven’t started studying for it. How difficult is it? I’ve been in HR for 20 years and have experienced ALOT in that time, although there are always employee relations scenarios that surprise me! How much do I really need to study for this? Why does no one discuss the real elephant that’s in the room? Most people hired in tech the last few years weren’t qualified. A few years of woke friends hiring woke friends lead us here. The positions that are getting laid off are mostly admin/recruiter related (jobs with transferable skills most people can do). It’s not the end of the world, people will find other jobs. Just no more made up titles making 6 figures at home watching Netflix (good thing).

Interviewed for a company today. The remuneration package $120k-$180k/year [Base + % of Commission = OTE] (50/50 spilt).

They’re asking for an expected salary, if my expected salary is $100k/year, comes out to $8.3k/month.

Based on the $180k and paymix of 50/50, that means $90k is the base salary which is lower than my expected - is this correct? If so, what should I do?
