[query] Is it a good idea to say a firm No due to medical reasons to a new night shift project I'm hired in?Accenture
I recently got a night shift project (2 days ago) that requires me to work from 10:30pm till 7:30am
I'm not comfortable with these timings and I'm thinking to ask my manager to put me on Bench (Due to medical reasons that involve mental health)
Is it a nice idea to say a firm No to a new project I'm hardlocked into, due to night shifts?
Q: for FAANG recruiters, do candidates get a reject stamp after failing even at the later stages?
I advanced to the last stage at Facebook (Meta) around a year ago but failed on my last interview, a combination of not being familiar with the process and not having chemistry with the interviewer.
A friend who is a hiring manager recently recommended me and this time without even a HR call I received a straight up thanks but no thanks email.
Does this mean I’ve been permanently black listed?

Serious question - assuming that multiple people find the same projects interesting (and the same project uninteresting), how do you recommend that they solve this problem? It seems like a recipe to have certain projects being over staffed, and some projects not having any staff.
Once upon a time Deloitte used to have a bench and would staff people on projects with more of a focus on fit/interest/ability to deliver whereas now it seems like Deloitte is just looking for warm bodies. Seems like a recipe for high turnover for the foreseeable future.

Instead of checking out, why not talk to your project leadership team? See if you can work with them short term while you jointly find a backfill and more suitable role for you.

Unfortunately, I don't think they'd be open to that. I am at a midsize firm. Plus, they've known all along what my interests are yet this is their second time staffing me on something I don't like.
