Maybe it depends on the firm, but I worked from home a lot even as a first year associate. It was never a problem. Just use good judgment about when you might actually need to be in the office.
Same here. It may depend on the firm, but I always work a lot from home (have since day 1) and that’s what people have come to expect. I do good work and they keep coming back, where I work from plays no role. No one has ever said anything, but I also don’t invite anyone to say anything because it’s not their business.
This ... mobile working is my dream. Not senior enough to feel that I can pull it off yet
I would say second year is when you can probably start doing this more. Our firm has a new remote work policy that encourages us to take one or two regular days a week to work from home but you can’t use it until you’re a little more established. Face time is a good thing early in your career so people know your tone a bit better when you’re sending emails.
