When corona started, I was way more lenient with drinking on weekdays, since life was boring now and it was a way to chill out and have fun even if I was just hanging in my apartment. Now it’s been months and I still feel like I use drinking to mark the transition from working to chilling almost every day. Is this a bad thing? I never expected to be WFH this long. I used to be pretty much a social drinker. Wondering if anyone else has had the same experience.

I’ve been using so much hand sanitizer that my hands are drying out! Anyone else experience this? Should I add lotion on too? My fingers are getting too slippery for fingerprint scanners!

I wanted to take a moment to thank everyone who shares in this group. It truly helps me stay sober. I am approaching 12 months sober but have been struggling lately. While I have not relapsed, I’ve been close. Normally, before I get out of bed, I write down my reason to stat sober for the day, but lately the reasons have been lousy at best. But reading about everyone’s struggles and successes has helped get me through this past month. So thank you all for the inspiration to keep going strong!

Any of you manage WFH / telecommute more than 50% of the time? When I was an associate, you hardly saw the principal/owner. Now that I’m 7 months into partnership, I just started a set up for WFH myself. It’s basic right now, but once fully set up, I don’t see a need to go to the office other than client meetings. But in this area of law, even in a pandemic, people love to just stop by. So that’s one of my concerns if I transition to WFH.

I used to do mostly cardio (with rare instances of body weight exercises). Yesterday for the first time after a long time, I took a 40-minute Peloton intermediate level full body strength class. Today, I can’t even move. My legs are so sore (specifically hips and quads). I did a warm up before the class and stretching after the class. Is this normal? If not, how can I make sure this doesn’t happen again?

When does the imposter syndrome go away? Or at least fade away enough so I’m not anxious 24/7.

I’m starting a job search as I wind down my maternity leave and I have an interview for a role that says “Up to 20% travel around the US for meetings with clients” - but are people still traveling that much since Covid? Since remote work has become more common I feel like in-person meetings and travel expenses seem unnecessary. 20% of the time is once every two weeks - and I’m not sure I’m willing to do that with a newborn baby at home.

Need advice! I started a new job 6 months ago and it’s basically the job from hell!! There is zero work-life balance. My boss is an adept micromanager and workaholic who puts the expectation of working overtime and weekends on the rest of the team.
