Layoffs at Edelman announced today
Hi Friends! I have a situation here. I am working in a startup company where there is no proper process at all. I am now leaving and I have requested relieving letter and experience letter with roles and responsibilities mentioned in that. But the manger is telling that he can provide only relieving letter which I can use as experience letter also. But in most of the companies, they are asking relieving & Exp letters. What should I do now?Tata Consultancy

Good thing I’m not having kids

My mom is a semi-prepper and when covid started she mailed me a box of hand sanitizer, lysol wipes, cloth masks and an N95. And a rubik's cube, lol. She's the best.
Im a prepper but most people wouldn’t guess it (progressive liberal female in CA), and I don’t tell anyone (first rule of prepping). I have multiple guns and about $7k worth of ammo stored in various properties, keep a 2 month supply of water, some amount of gas, and several months of food.
I would put money on natural disaster
I remember hard judging people wearing a mask on public transportation in February. I was so so dumb.
Concur.
I bet many people with bunkers overlap with those not wearing masks

Not true. My bunker is full of masks :-)))
Buy masks, not guns!
My dad bought me an N95 mask before sophomore year of college “just in case.” I remember my mom and I making fun of him for weeks. Oh how the tables turned...
24 — still had the mask!
So how many guns do you have in the underground bunker? And can I stay with you once the vaccines turn us to zombies?
Quite a few. No underground bunker. That wasn’t and isn’t in the plan.
But guns do not = prepping. Self sustaining mechanisms for basic necessities are.
What did you have already set up? Bunker, guns etc?
I’m just interested because I’ve never met one in professional setting. Just guys who make their own moonshine. And my parents who stockpile canned goods and toilet paper and non perishables because they grew up poor.
Same. I had built a "bug out bag" with a couple n95's and had enough food that I didn't have to go to the store for months. I still got covid because I went to the bar on St. Patricks day but hey you win some you lose some.
You clearly haven’t been to the south
Exactly. This whole concept only applies in certain population areas. Most rural areas still don’t accept that it’s real / deadly. Spent a bunch of time in FL too and they think the COVID death rate is because people die from cancer etc. and the hospital wants to get more $ from the system which they think they can do via marking the death as COVID caused.
I was one of the few wearing a mask outside in NYC and stocking up groceries in early March. Got a ton of weird looks. A week later in mid-March, after the media started reporting the number of deaths every day, those people were the odd ones out.

When China announced the lockdown of Wuhan Jan 23, I drove to home depot bought around 2,500 dollars of N95 and N99 mask and filters, then I went to Target to buy all available inventory of lysol and clorox.
My wife called me crazy, my coworker made fun of me, and my family told me that I was exaggerating. 4 month later everyone started to ask for mask and cleaning supplies

Yes, glad it was you who had all that PPE and not the front-line doctors and nurses. Eff them anyway, RSM got his!
