When did you decide to freeze your eggs? I’m iffy on kids. We’ve already decided on only one as we live in a HCOL area. On the other hand, I’m not ready to settle at all & feel it’s morally irresponsible to have kids when global warming/overpopulation is already a big problem. I have anxiety about it all the time and I’m in my late 20s. By the time I DO have my kid and they’re older, they’ll be living through the consequences of our inaction. But I also want my mom to be a gma…. Idk, It’s hard.

I am currently going through the process of egg-freezing at 24. I know it is very early, but I also know I’m not ready for kids for a while. My company pays for it so doing it young was a no-brainer for me to get more and better quality eggs.

Good to know, thanks for the heads up!

To clarify: Settle at all as in not have fun anymore. I need to make up for lost time from the past 2 years not traveling and doing young person things. I want a dog and I want one before I have kids and I haven’t even felt ready to sacrifice for that either yet. So I meant that, not settle like romantic partner wise.

Do you have siblings who can make your mom a grandma? Does your mom want to be a grandma? As far as freezing your eggs go…weigh the costs of stimulation meds, freezing, the yearly fee for storage, the procedure of thawing and creating embryos, implanting, etc with the cost of (possibly) needing stimulation meds when you’re older…it might be cheaper for a round of IVF to boost your number of eggs ten years from now rather than the act of freezing and storing now. Plus, you might not have any problem getting pregnant ten years from now…you never know.

Cool then I’ll look into it for the next few months.

My step in laws are TERRIBLE. Not directly to me but family dynamic is stressful. They parent their youngest kid with pills and ignoring him, so that he does inappropriate things around me with zero correction (walking in on me, insulting me). They are all half siblings (4 boys 30-11) so they all don’t care including my partner. FIL also verbally abuses MIL in front of us. Yet they all want to please him constantly. It’s just bad.

Food was good though.

This is an interesting one. So I work on a small finance team at a tech startup. I have only one peer who is female, about 4 years older than me. She looked at the payroll and realized I make significantly more than her. I also work significantly less hours than her because I work on the technical side while she is operational. I think all of my years in consulting allowed me to get hired at a premium. She sorta confronted me about the pay gap and I skirted the issue...
