Sorry to hear you're going through troubled times. I'd take it one day at a time. You are correct that your employer doesn't need to know about your personal medical situation, however, they should be made aware of certain aspects that could impact your performance. Be prepared to address that ONLY if and when it becomes necessary. In the meantime, take care of yourself.

I believe you should hold a meeting and do this as soon as possible. Start with the challenges women face in workplaces, then generally move towards health issues.
