When did you start back with the M-Th travel? My company has been very supportive but have been on the bench for the longest since I’ve been back from maternity leave and no local project in sight

I started at 11mo after return / 15mo old. Honestly, I’ve found the every other week travel easier than one night every week. My client hasn’t blinked at it - all the partners are surprised and pleased at how well it’s been going

I’m open to 2-3 days but most projects say that is not possible

I was open to it when my LO was 7mo but didn't actually get staffed on a travel gig until LO was 10 mo.

Im a RN and took on a new role working in Home Health. I chose this position because My husband & I recently moved to PA with our 2 kids (1&3), with no family available for his residency program with a hospital. If you know that life, I’m pretty much the main parent for our kids. I don’t want to work in the hospital/floor work anymore; nor do I believe the hrs are flexible enough. I need a job that’s flexible for the kids but pays >$44/hr. Maybe remote or hybrid? Please help w/ suggestions.

Anyone have three kids and working in big law? I just found out I’m pregnant with no. 3 and it’s been a lot trying to juggle morning sickness, but based on my experience, I know this is only the tip of the iceberg of what’s to come. My husband and I are elated, but the anxiety of being a mom of 3 kids and working in big law is preventing me from truly enjoying this news. It would be good to know what it’s really like having 3 kids so that I can evaluate how long I really have left in big law.

After 3 years of dealing with the worst firm I've ever had the displeasure of working for, I finally landed my dream gig at a small specialty firm. The people at the new firm are all SMEs featured in and contributors to the most notable business publications in the world, less than 100 employees, better benefits, unlimimted PTO, doubled my pay and landed a senior role.

Keep looking for what you want and deserve. I'm happy to be forging a better path away from what I've had to endure.

Has anyone figured out how to not feel absolutely horrendous when you wake up? I dread mornings because waking it so hard for me.

I prioritize getting 7-8 hours of sleep (this is the best I can do at the moment with work and a small baby) and I’ve stopped drinking because even 1 beer seems to make the morning 10x worse. Anything else I can try?

Hello HR folks. Overheard a conversation at work and am curious what is the norm.
If an employee goes out on FMLA, obviously the benefits person sends them the STD, FMLA paperwork etc. But is it the maagers responsibility to maintain communication with the person out on leave and to get a timeline on their return or would that be the benefits team? Or maybe the HRBP?

Very early in my pregnancy and I know my job is a dead end.

Any idea what the average tenure requirement for mat leave is at agencies? My current agency is 6 months. Is that standard?

Will people do the math if I get a new job and know I was pregnant when I got hired?

I’m currently interviewing but wondering if it’s going to reflect poorly on me at a new job if they realize i was already pregnant when I accepted the job.

Trying out bumble bff. Met a girl for drinks last week and we seemed to hit it off. We mentioned doing something again and coordinating later in the week. I texted her today to ask if she was still interested in doing something this week and she said she was super busy with a huge project and apologized. But she didn’t offer the weekend (which I feel is included in “this week”), didn’t say “lets do another time” or anything like that. Should I take the L and count her as not rly interested 🥲

Personally, I like posts like this one a lot because:
- it forces companies to admit, you were never out to “hire the best”
- long-term loyalty to a company is completely overrated
