Curious to hear answers! Almost 11 weeks and haven’t told work and not sure when I will. I haven’t even told family yet - we are telling them this weekend. I hate attention so I am not looking forward to telling people haha

So I’ve miscarried twice (6 & 11 weeks) and no one knew either time. I now have a daughter, and I told work when I was 21 weeks. It still gives 20 weeks roughly for planning purposes. For me, I would not have wanted to share my losses with anyone I work with and so I waited until after the anatomy scan to let work know, as I felt pretty confident then. To each their own, but don’t feel pressured to tell anyone until you are fully ready. Work, projects, partners, bosses will all be fine regardless of when you inform. Do it when it seems right to you.

I waited until 16 weeks to make sure it was safe and so they can plan long term staffing. If you have an intense 1st trimester or complications, could be best for you and baby to mention that earlier than I did. You can tell staffing / your boss not to broadcast your news til later as well

I think it’s best to be cautious. Travel can be very tough at times (delays, traffic, lots of standing, lifting luggage, stairs) so I would let my employer know early if I were in your place. If you’re not sure, consult with your doctor

I told all my closest work friends right away. Figured if I miscarried that they should know what was happening with me. Supervisors is another story though. If you’ll be jumping into a new project, I would hold off for a while. The reason being, I was turned down for a role because I told them about my maternity leave. I was being interviewed by another women who had 3 kids so I thought she would appreciate my being forthcoming. Wrong. Lesson learned.

This is my major concern as well as I wanted to take more risks to try a bigger role starting next year (when I am reaching >20 weeks), and would prefer to hide my belly until the project decision is made

I told staffing straight away (8 weeks), but she was a) parent of a 4 month old and b) a close friend. It meant I could have transparent conversations about eg not wanting to work on two projects across two continents.

Resume submitted with app: Major GPA or Cumulative GPA? Context: My major GPA (aka final two years of business school courses) is 3.57 however my cumulative GPA is 3.20. Am I obligated to list both or is only listing my major GPA satisfactory? The reality is that I started undergrad at 17 and was an immature kid who goofed off his first couple of years prior to pulling it together when I started taking my major courses so I want to make sure that is clear. Note: I also have a 720 GMAT.

So my wife basically said she doesn’t want to have sex anymore. Don’t want to do anything about it. After couple kids, doesn’t feel it anymore. Also said it wasn’t anything I did and there’s no one else. I understand women’s body changes after child birth but can’t help thinking it’s gonna suck being in a sexless marriage. We’re still attractive and haven’t turned into couch potatoes…yet Happy Thanksgiving!

Hello, Need some advise Last year due to covid got laid off and then didn't got any opportunity due to visa issues. Later myself and my family got covid positive and unfortunately my father expired due to covid. So I have got gap of 1.3 years in my career. Now I want to start giving interviews and get back in the game. My concern is with 2 things here 1. I lack confidence/motivation due to the gap. 2. How do I address this in resume ?

At EY , do you have to be there for a year before you can take the 16 weeks of parental leave or is it an immediate benefit?

Hi Moms- Curious to get a sense of what your different parental leave policies look like and how you have liked them. My company gave 12 weeks paid and I felt it was woefully short for my first. Before having my second, I'm interested in pushing my company to increase the time and am curious to hear what other companies offer. Beyond just the time, was your company flexible? Is it the same for all parents? Did it feel like enough? Thank you!

Last year, My girlfriend was making 80k while I was making 200k so I took her out to dinners and took care of the groceries etc. Basically made sure it’s an equitable relationship. She got a new job this year and is now making 210k (more than me) but still expects me to pay for all the dinners and groceries. I’ve already talked to her about this but just resulted in argument. Is there any coming back from this situation to make this equitable relationship or is break up the only option here?
