When do companies usually conduct pre employment background checks?

I barely drink alcohol and I’m so tired of feeling pressured to go to happy hours during a pandemic with people I barely know. I never go because I don’t wanna travel all the way to sit there awkwardly and just drink a water while staying masked (if it’s indoors). Does anyone else find work happy hours a waste of time?

Need your input- I got an offer from Deloitte touché for 18.5 fixed for SCON Business Analyst and HR say 20% will be variable on top of it. I got another offer for 21.5, HR say they cannot go beyond 18.5 as offer is not from big4 and not ready to negotiate.
Should I say no to them? Will they get back and offer for 21.5??
My YOE is 6.7 & CCTC is 12.5.

Hi ladies! Do you use oil-based or water-based body moisturizer?
I currently use Cetaphil moisturizing cream (water-based) but I’ve seen people talking about Palmers coconut oil lotion. Not sure if it’d be good for my skin but I’d love to hear from someone that uses it or another oil-based moisturizer to hear what they like about it. TIA :)
