The problem is that promotions are effective 10/1, so it's the first pay period after that. Its just an absurdly long process, since they make decisions in may/ June.
So are you getting promoted to senior? Cause that's not a double promotion. Staff 2 isn't a promotion it's a progression, and you don't get anything for it. Pbb are August and promotion bonuses are October. If you are only making senior you only get the October one. You don't get pbb till after your senior 1 year.
I came in with a year and a half of experience in the industry but I was a Staff 1 since I signed my offer with EY as a campus hire prior to this experience. I operated as a Senior and led my engagements and had a lot of support from Manager, SM and a Partner. It all worked out perfectly.
Oct 15 for promotion
Pbb in Aug, promotion in oct
That's hr trying to make it seem much more valuable than it is
Historically at least

Staff 1 ---> Senior 1, it's a big deal to me at least. I'm happy regardless :)

Wait... August? I'm getting a double promotion this year. Do I get that bonus in august or October ?

It's called a double promotion still from what HR said, but that's just technicality either way. Thanks for the info!
