I’m having a sit down with my creative directors next week, they have some concerns. I’ve been doing well with my radio and tv assignments but not as well with my collateral and email assignments. I’m having trouble adopting the already established voice of the latter but the tv and radio work I get to create my own voice for each project. Any advice on how to plead my case of having some degree of difficulty and not intentional doing bad work?

Maybe this is an unpopular opinion, but I think that long-arm statutes are terrible for our system. You shouldn't be able to file in the state that you live in. As a policy matter, I feel the default should always be where the defendant lives unless the contract states otherwise.

How long to wait before letting a nanny go back to work after covid? Our nanny started feeling sick around 9 days ago. She tested positive 8 days ago. Her symptoms have been very mild (just a cough and a runny nose) and she’s been essentially symptom-free for the past 48 hours. I’ve received a solid in house offer (base salary is only 25k less and I’m getting a signing bonus + eligible for large annual bonuses) after being at my BigLaw firm a little over a year. I have 6 YOE, started in government then went to a midsize firm then BL. My mentor wants me to think about staying in BigLaw atleast two years before leaving to increase my marketability, but I have a good offer and don’t want to stay in BL unless I really need to. Thoughts?

I have been offered a position in-house at a $500M-$1B company, mid-sized city LCOL, 10 YOE in private practice. They offered me $120k, w opp for undefined discretionary bonus. No paid parental leave or 401(k) match & only 1 week PTO in first year (but claim they have discretion for more). Is there any way to salvage this? Salary guides suggest TC should be around $200-215k. I want to get my foot in the door but this seems crazy low.
