Is Marriott doing this?
Do I still get Marriott points / nights when booking through firms travel agency (adelman)?
Flew Delta Premium Select from DTW > PWG on the new Airbus 330 plane. It was the best experience I’ve ever had, worth every penny 👌🏻
Working as a Principal at Slalom Consulting, 2 YOE, strictly Salesforce. My prior 10+ YOE is tech consulting/digital mktg outside of Salesforce. I'm happy with comp, projects, coworkers, etc. Salesforce is recruiting me for a solution architect role in CSG. After talking to 2 recruiters, job sounds identical to my current role. Outside of equity, is there a compelling reason to consider Salesforce? I think the equity would be nice but travel also seems more likely postCovid. Thanks!
On my notice period and bench for the next couple of weeks. With wfh I'm basically doing whatever I want (running, reading, swimming, day trips nearby) during work hours. Can't travel abroad cos UK visa is being issued. Any activities/places I should visit in London that get jam packed during the weekend?
Did anyone here work at Marriott? Do they verify if you fill out an explore program authorization form?
Can I ask for miles on delta - they are deplaning us after delaying the flight. They do not have another aircraft lined up... I took this flight so I could get a full night rest for work and now won't
Starting my first traveling project tomorrow, what time do you recommend I get to LGA for a 9am flight? Flying delta and don’t have premier status/pre check yet.
I have 4 Alaska Airlines MVP Gold upgrades expiring on 12/31, I won’t use them. Anybody have an upgradable flight I can apply to? Free! Your ticket can’t be in G, T, R, or X class and there must be upgrade space available.
Who else takes an earlier flight on Mondays so that they can sleep in their rental car on the client site parking lot while contemplating their existence?
I want to travel alone. I tried it on a weekend trip but felt extremely awkward and lonely. Any tips?
Pretty obvious but has anyone else thought about the impact on effective comp that comes with the lack of travel, and the consequences for talent management? Banks are jacking base salaries to the moon, but our industry is barely budging. Consider the loss of food expensing that had netted us hundreds of dollars per week. The lack of payment in lieu of travel on weekends. The rewards points/miles we’re not accruing. The tax-free nature of all of it. Is it any surprise we're hurting for talent?
Thinking of starting a language YouTube channel with travel videos, clickbait videos and all sorts of language related content. This considered professional?
Need to buy a suitcase, for hold travel - what's the best value out there? Travelpro, samsonite?
Looking for recommendations to plan 2 weeks in Dubai with parents that are in their late 50s. Not looking to do something everyday, we’re booking a nice hotel to relax in as well, so probably 7 days worth of activities. Any insights would be helpful :)
Can a L1’s spouse (on L2) renew visa stamp by themselves (without going to the embassy with the spouse)? L1 is in the US but cannot travel to renew visa stamp for medical reasons
Any others with a chronic illness/pain here? How do you cope with the travel and lifestyle?
Anyone out there looking for a senior marketing guy with a speciality in hospitality, travel and tourism?
Just curious, I would think that you will be safe and be guaranteed to get 3 year H1B extension approved after you have an approved I140. Anyone heard of their friend had trouble with this before?
QBurst is hiring across various roles with flexible location, amazing wlb and competitive pay. Happy to refer you. DM me if you’re interested.
For people here making less than 100K who max out their 401K / HSA, can I have a conversation with you about your taxes paid ? Is it significantly less or is your take home significantly less ? Trying to assess the financial impact to my take home if I max out my 401K. Ty!
Interviewing at McKinsey from a big 4 consulting firm - currently an engagement manager interviewing for an engagement manager role on the partner track - comp at big 4 is currently $165k base, what’s a reasonable amount to ask for at mck? I got an Ivy League exec mba in 2020 as well, which hasn’t yet been reflected in my big 4 comp (we mostly didn’t do raises because of covid last year). Trying to understand how much higher mck might be willing to go?
Looking at a cool role at Workday 👀. Anyone able to refer and give insight to your experience?
Got super lucky on Tuesday to get this beauty. Feels so good on the wrist. Nice balance with my DJ36
Anyone else have trouble focusing in the afternoon after a busy morning? Feel like I’ve spent all my brain power already today.
This seems like a good time for freelancers, given all the available work and double dip opportunities. But for those who’ve done this awhile, what are the bad times like? Are long lulls just a fact of life? Asking as a relatively experienced creative.
Has anyone ever done Tech/implementation consulting with the FDIC? Wondering how they are as a client and what the work atmosphere is like there
How much does Deloitte pay for consultants and senior consultants in their cyber risk practice in a low to mid cost of living city?
30 male here. Pretty sure my early-40s female boss has a work crush on me. We’re both married & it seems totally innocent, nothing remotely inappropriate yet. While we do vibe & she is attractive, I have no interest in it escalating into inappropriate territory. Nor do I think she does, for the record. Any way I can play this to my favor while keeping it innocent? New territory for me, first female boss that I’ve gotten work-wife vibes from. We work well together & I dont want to jeopardize that
Team & client do a LOT of dinners/happy hours and I am very particular about getting in a workout every evening (morning workouts make me nauseous) has anyone faced issues skipping many team events?
What are the pros and cons of working for Workday directly, as opposed to working for a partner firm.
What practice area did you start out in and where are you now? I’m curious about how people switch practice areas and what they do to start fresh. What resources they used aside from getting an LLM.
Anyone ever do just contract jobs? What was your experience like? What level did you leave to start doing them? Did you form an LLC or a separate entity or just under your name? What did you like and what did you dislike?
Matterport has been on fire lately!
