I was laid off back in August and I have been trying to get a product/UX/UI job ever since then. With the recession and all of the crazy things that are happening right now it has been even harder.

Is anyone hiring a mid-level Product/UX/UI designer?
I have 3 years of experience as a UX/UI Designer and I am available to start working immediately! (Remote work is preferred since I live in Phoenix, AZ and there are not a lot of tech jobs here)

Wife and I are going in with my BIL and SIL to pay for a retirement/40th anniversary/MIL's 60th birthday trip to an island for my parents in law when they retire next year. They think we forgot about all of those events and are going to lose it when we give the gift at Christmas.

Father in law has had a lot of frustration, getting included in two mass layoffs in two years and taking two straight 40% pay cuts at the end of his career. We're so excited to give them something to look forward to.

For recruiters, hiring managers, HR, or anyone with past experience — if I’ve been laid off (startup financial problems) and I’ve set my LinkedIn to “open to work,” should I also post something that says I’m looking? I saw someone post their resume + open to work and asked people to share with their network, and while I’m not willing to be quite that vulnerable, it made me wonder if there’s value in a post like that.

Should one add their personal technology that are currently used for remote work on their resume? Seems most companies will provide the hardware and software needed. However, it’s unclear if the employer will provide this through Teamviewer/VPN connection or will send an actual computer. Along with this, would it be pertinent to add your internet capability (speed, fios/cable/satellite/dsl)?

From my experience thus far (10 years) CD/ads are better giving copy feedback than CD/cws are giving art feedback.

CWs, advice, develop a good sense of aesthetic and even design/art lingo early on before you become CD. A CD CW should know what things like kerning is.
