When do you tell the client offer a better fucking product or service??

The Domino’s turnaround was all Crispin. Volvo’s shop just introduced a new way to lease a car. Nike Fuel Band was R/GA. Agencies can absolutely influence product. When’s a good time to try to do it? When you’ve earned their trust. Not just their business

Uh... hang on let me think about it .... never.

You're paid to advertise. If you don't like what they're doing then leave. It's not your place to comment on the product.

Not sure, but we did it with Motel 6... in the 80s

When you and the most senior client are getting drinks / dinner and having real talk. Maybe first ask if you can give them some honest, unsolicited advice?

Right before you drop them. Or right after they drop you.

Companies need to push their product and services. When they know of an issue, and customers suffer for it, no amount of marketing will help. We can bring the horse to the water but when can you tell your client fix the fucking product and or service.

There’s nothing wrong with advising or suggesting your client make product/brand changes if they know it’s coming from a good place. We’re hired to build and protect their brand, and know a shit load about their business. If the suggestion is predicated on that understanding and it’s done civilly, respectfully and strategically, the client should at least be open to talking about it. It’s an opportunity to help them innovate and for your team to cement a successful and hopefully loyal relationship.

Love that! Thank you. I also know that the model of becoming a partner to the client has been explored by agencies like anomaly. I think it’s brilliant when you can come in as a partner, offer your marketing services for a portion of the sales of a product. We do our job, and the client has less say since we’re in it together.

Good luck. Agencies have been trying to tell Pizza Hut that for 15 years 😂

Didn’t Crispin come up with chicken fries for Burger King?

If you’re in the development stages of a product and they want your input, sure. If it’s a done deal, you gotta work with what you have

Wtf kind of question is this

I always thought it was strange that agencies rarely let candidates know the client until they are towards the end of the process. My position has way more job security than others simply because I work for a CPG client. Those in the same role on other accounts (e.g. airlines, hotels, fitness) have been furloughed or even laid off just because of the nature of the industry their client is in. Do we think agencies will have to be more transparent and let candidates ultimately chose the client?

Posted in Big 4 bowl but reposting here: Looking to move into a general Consulting Staff/Business Transformation/Strategy position mid-late 2022. Was eyeing a Summer/Fall 2022 Business Transformation Staff position at EY in particular, but it has dropped off. Any idea of when positions like that will typically open up across most firms? Want to get in early, open to any firm. I do not have an MBA, but I am client facing and work in commercial markets currently. TYIA!
