When everyone is getting more than they’re full of Zoom meetings, what are some other ways to keep employees engaged, connected, and feeling like they’re part of something important?

Erm ... that should’ve said “more than their fair share of Zoom meetings”.

I think sharing what things will be different and better when looking past the crisis is a great way to help give employees purpose. What are the new ways to help people and institutions? Wha things will get unstuck - in a good way - because of this major disruption, this point of inflection? While not being unrealistic about today and hardships over the next number of months, it's key to give the employees a message of hope, purpose, and inspiration, rooted in a better future that could and should be. They will be the best way in my view to help them feel they are part of something important. I also thing the Zoom "happy hour" we have each week is very helpful :)

Breastfeeding on a zoom call. Yay or nay? Was awkward in the call today. With webcam on. No one said anything but can tell from the faces the bewilderment. 5 people call. 3 women and 2 men. Kept up to point and wrapped the call quickly. I am one of the males btw.

I think I smile and nod too much. How do I stop? I don’t want to smile all the time but it’s like I’ve been conditioned over time. It honestly is draining. Especially on zoom I can see myself and in my head I’m like wow I am a wreck smiling and nodding vigorously at the most inane things.

Was getting yelled at by senior manager via Zoom for going over budget. Didn’t respond, just dropped from the call Intentionally, due to the tone/ aggression shown. Gave him 3 minutes to calm down and rejoined the zoom call. He settled down and adjusted his tone. Do you guys think I need to report to HR this behavior or just let it go? I’m a professional not a child to berate.

Hi, I’m interviewing for a S&O manager role at DD. Would love to see if anyone can offer insights on the case study and tips for the onsite. Thinking about forming a small group to do one or two discussions or prep sessions (over Zoom?) within the next few days to get ready. Already connected with one other candidate to get this started. Feel free to comment or DM me.

I haven’t seen this out there, but it came up in my college class; don’t record your Zoom sessions if there’s any interaction with students. It violates FERPA.

My CEO is literally *always* on Slack. 5 am? Online. 11 pm? Online. Saturday, Sunday, holidays? Online. I know I’m not really expected to work around the clock (though I often do), but having him never, ever not be online is stressing me out. How do y’all deal with this? Just put it out of your mind?

Hey y’all - I have a large amount (think $20K +) of credit card debt. Should I consolidate the CC debt into another loan? Curious how folks have thought about the right balance of debt vs investment.
