When filling taxes, do you manually put in the HSA amount you contributed or is it already reflected in the W2?

Amount contributed through your paycheck is on w2. If you made a separate contribution it is not in w2.

I would think it should be fairly straightforward. On the 8889 your manual contributions go on line 2 and the part from your w2 goes on line 9. Your w2 box 1 income is reduced by the hsa amount so when you fill out the form 8889 it will give you an hsa deduction amount for just your manual contributions.

Had someone lateral into our firm as a fifth year (soon to be sixth). They were kind of a retool and went from small law to the firm I’m at. They are still learning a lot of basic stuff, and I think it’s weird that the firm hired someone at that level as a retool. They sometimes ask me for help with stuff, but I’m just getting annoyed at this point. Can I just say “no” since they’re about to be a mid/senior associate who should know all of this?

How's everyone doing? I was on social media today and reading about the Adam Toledo video and it took me back to last June, which on top of the pain from seeing this racist system continue to win out, June was my lowest billing month and hurt my confidence about hitting hours compared to my white peers.

How are other people dealing with 1) trauma of another racist murder by cops and 2) impact on work? I am not black, so my pain does not compare but I can't act like things are fine either...

Many are wondering what’s wrong with ClearView. The problem is straightforward, if the way ClearView is organizing a project such that when one analyst or senior analyst (22 to 24 year old) fails at something, stakes are high enough that an project’s fate depends on it, then ClearView is putting way too much responsibility on its Junior staff, not promoting and severely underpaying them. Maybe it’s time ClearView brought in a consulting firm to ease its org problems
