When flying out from client site on Thursday to go home, how can you avoid needing to bring your luggage to client site on that day if hotel checkout is in the morning and your flight is that evening?

Ask the hotel to hold it for you, I’ve never been told no to that. If you don’t want to travel back, then there’s not many options.

What’s the issue with having it at the client?

like

Drop off your clothes at a laundry Thursday morning, pick them Monday afternoon. Leave your empty luggage at the hotel.

like

Do you have a rental car? Leave it in trunk if you do. Otherwise, check it at hotel and pick it up on way to airport?

like

Thanks for the tips. No rental car but I’ll see if the hotel will hold it for me.

like

If the hotel won’t hold it, get a new hotel.

If you have a rental car, leave it in the trunk. Otherwise, it seems unavoidable unless you ship your bag. Unless your hotel is across the street it probably doesn’t make sense to go back to the hotel to pick it up before going to the airport

Here’s a great story as to why not - read the OP. https://joinfishbowl.com/post_vfkf2

I travel without luggage. I store at the hotel over the weekend. The hotel gives me a laundry allowance that allows for larger items and I take smaller things in a pouch in my computer bag.

Same clothes for 4 days+deo.

Hi Guys - Need your advice. CCTC-18, YOE -7.5, QA automation Offer in hand- 28 LPA, 75 days NP left Accenture is retaining with 25%hike and leadership told that remaining 25% will be covered in the dec cycle. Should I consider this offer or look for outside opportunities. I feel that getting 28+ package will be difficult at my YOE and techstack. Also, there might be some onshore opportunities in near future in current project. Please suggest.

For those fully remote but have team/company offsites for in-person collaboration, do you require everyone to be at the offsite, or are there options to still dial-in remotely? Our team isn’t really accommodating dial-ins because of “logistics” – proper conferencing/equipment, etc and I think it excludes people who can’t always travel cross country. But wanted to hear how other companies do it.

A new career opportunity popped into my lap recently and I am planning to take it. I would be leaving public accounting for industry and part of me is thrilled and part of me is so sad. I will be getting a $15k salary increase, which is a huge motivator in me taking the position. I am also in tax currently and I just don’t know if I can do this forever. I’m a mom of young kids and tax season is incredibly hard. How do I not feel so guilty for leaving or if I’m making a bad decision?
