When I was in industry, I started presenting to SVPs as an intern. Now my manager says I’m too junior to present to an SM on the client team (I’m a level 10). This is a little upsetting

Tell the manager that you would like to get the experience and ask how you can start preparing for different presentations. Some clients are finicky AF and don’t want anyone below a certain level in the room. I’ve gone from presenting to C-suite to not able to present to mid level to presenting to c-suite all based on different clients.

I have my staff present to CIO too. Limited topics and I ensure they are prepped.

What is level 10? I present to c-suite as a SC

Senior analyst. I keep expressing to my manager that I want a chance but he is very cautious because the client asks a lot of Questions. However if he is present I don’t see the big deal?

That makes more sense. Show that you could prep by being prepared for diff questions. Also, ask your manager if you could tag team certain things that wouldn’t trigger as many questions.

What's your thetan level though?

Presenting to senior managers and clients is a right of passage at your level. Don’t take it personally. I didn’t get to present to telecom clients until I was a 2nd year consultant. They also train us for these presentations even through manager school.

I’ve been working for my client for about a year and love my projects and client team and have had strong performance-however my team running the PMO is disorganized, burnt out, and teetering on the verge of a major mishap if the trend continues. Just finishing my first week in as an audit intern and genuinely I have no idea what I'm doing or even a general idea of the audit process. The senior associate left the engagement last week so it's just me and an associate, and they don't have time to give me instruction. Am I stupid or did the e-learns not prepare me for any of this? The training told me I'd be auditing cash but I haven't even touched a bank reconciliation.

Client asks us to design a poster for an IMAX movie that features how blockbuster movies are made. One of the key features in the movie is King Kong so we featured it prominently on the poster as well. Client asks seriously whether we need to be concerned about offending an African American audience. I shit you not! Arguably my most jaw dropping moment in this business.
