When I was on Acutane, my nose blackheads were non-existent. They’ve since returned full force - any suggestions for how to get rid of them again/what Acutane had that made them stop?

Retinol or salicylic acid

like

Eg OTC retinol - differin, cerave (also has SA washes). Mid range SA - glossier. Higher end SA - skinceuticals. Mid/high range retinol - talk to your derm

Sulfur soap

like

OTC - Aztec clay mask via Amazon. Stronger - deems have a few they can write prescriptions for.

Cerave retinol serum is a good starter one bc it’s not too strong. You should slowly introduce higher concentrations of retinol and let your skin get used to it bc it can be very strong. As always, test a tiny bit of product on a small patch of skin to see how your skin reacts.

For salicylic acid, I just use a st Ives green tea and bamboo scrub. Not the best but it does the trick and leaves my skin feeling super soft and smooth after. I’ve heard bad things about the peach product so I’d avoid that one.

I second the CeraVe retinol serum! I have super sensitive skin and started using it 1 day a week for 2 weeks, then twice a week for 2 weeks, now I'm up to every day. Never had an issues with it and after 6 weeks i can already see a small difference!

Dabbing hydrogen peroxide has helped me a little bit. I just started putting retinol on my nose cause I heard that helps too

I’d stay away from HP - it kills all bacteria (both good and bad) so it could mess with your skin flora! Be careful :)

Does anyone have OTC recs for the above products?

Added above.

You can also look into an exfoliator or scrub to help your pores; blackheads are often caused by buildup - what lotions or makeup are you using? Those could be culprits.

I really love Mario badescu - easy, middle of the road masks, toners, etc that help as well.

I’d also look into Korean skin care! They have amazing products and actually helped cure some of my trouble spots and acne!

Has anyone recently bought a bike? Apparently there’s a shortage bc of the pandemic. I finally found a road bike that’s the right size for me and everything but it’s $1400. I understand this is not a lot when you’re really into the activity, but it feels a bit steep to drop on a brand new hobby/way to increase exercise. Would love to hear if anyone else recently invested in a bike and what your thoughts were after a few months/long term.

Had to go in the office yesterday for an in-person meeting and the wheels fell off. I ate a donut for breakfast and ate the giant cookie served with lunch. I ate a very healthy dinner but felt sluggish and bloated all day. Stepped on the scale this morning and I gained 2 lbs. I think it’s mostly water weight as I still feel bloated. Aside from eating very healthy, what else can I do to get rid of the water retention?

I’ve done dry January and a lot of weight melted off. I was already shooting to keep it going through to March. For super lean people (borderline Instagram models), do you still drink alcohol after your 20s? I remember a male stripper in Vegas told me he only drank a shot of vodka once a year 😂 and that was the extent of his drinking, but he looked great.

Unrelated noob question, we currently have a gas cooking range and want to upgrade to an electric one. Would this require changes to our home or can the installers just unplug one and plug another? Not sure how to ensure we won’t have trouble getting the electric one installed. We have ordered an appliance package with installation and haul away for old appliances.

27M. I’ve been dealing with consistent muscle pulls and strains for the past five years from basic exercising like walking and body weight workouts that take months/years to recover when my doctor and internet say they should only take a few days/weeks to get better. I’ve gotten blood tests, diet is great, I’m 6’0 160lbs so no one is really sure what is causing this. Does anyone have any similar experiences? Only other thing that i can think of is stress but i don’t think it could be just that
