Depends on fund and the role. 2022 Associate hiring for most MFs is over already but smaller firms are still looking. 2023 associate hiring for MFs likely will kick off mid to end of summer. Experienced associate hiring is 🔥 right now across all firms

If you are hired as an experienced associate, are you likely to get promoted quicker than the ‘22 associates or is the starting line the same?

I have 2 offers in hand
amdocs : 19.5
Cognizant : 25 lpa

Which one to join.

Please guide

Everyone says to join amdocs, but money diff is also much betweeen both.

Also if i do all paperwork with amdocs and doesnt join will there be any issue for me, i dont intend to do this, but in case cognizant backs off I have to keep a back up offer in hand.

I’m interviewing for jobs that would essentially lead to a minor career pivot. I have gotten to 4 straight final rounds (4-5 interviews and a presentation for each company) to be told I’m second choice in favor of someone with more experience. I’m losing my mind and so tired of interviewing tbh. What can I do differently, or do I just need to chill out and wait for a company to say yes?

Hi fellow PE fishes, seeking career advice.
Currently in an APAC based LMM/MM PE focusing on tech and had joined the firm straight out of school. I intend on sticking to PE long term, but am curious about my career and financial trajectory in 3 cases.

1) stick to my current firm and eventually make partner

2) go for a Master’s degree and then move to an UMM/MF PE or MBB -> UMM/MF

3) Stay in the current firm and start my own fund with other Associates in the future.

If the goal is to be in PE operations, is it better to exit consulting as soon as possible (with an offer ofc) or does it makes sense to stick around for 3-4 years and build the skillset before leaving? I've been here for a bit under a year and I feel like I am learning things that are be useful in a PE setting.

Joined consulting post-MBA, mostly worked in Bain PEG, including a few value creation projects, mostly growth stage. I love this and want to do it as a job all the time. Currently plan to stay in PEG forever, but sometimes I think I might like to be an operating partner in a smallish growth fund (no interest in deal team). Are lateral options down the track (don't want to start as assoc again) possible, and if so how? Am female if relevant - pre-MBA hard technical & middle-mgmt exp in software

Hi all,

I would like to ask your suggestion on the package (headhunter asked) I should ask for a PE firm (NYC/~$3B AUM)’s op roles.

Sr. level (VP) portfolio ops role focusing on marketing investments in the mid-market growth companies. Work: identifying key tech risks, opportunities, costs & process inefficiencies for acquisition

Currently working in GTM/marketing for MSFT with prior strategy management consulting and e-commerce startup experiences with a MBA and a LLB. 8 YoE.

Thanks!

So I was talking to an old colleague who offered to recommend me to his MD for a lateral move into the group at AVP. He even asked me, are you absolutely sure you will be ok with a lateral move? And I said yes, as long as the MD agrees to make me a VP conditional on my performance in one year. I agreed because I am changing countries (not in NA). But, just given how much work experience I have (15 years sell and buy side), I want to tell my colleague that I want VP now. How to phrase this best?

Curious about what’s a better way to develop skills as an investor long term: sourcing for deals and trying to win deals and clients for your firm which builds relationships and your soft skills or doing deep due diligence with a firm and looking at everything from financials to legal documents?

I’m really asking about GE vs PE this question but wanted to focus on these two skill sets as I believe they make up the bulk of a junior person’s experience in either field. Open to your thoughts
