When lateraling to general counsel’s office, what expenses are reasonable to request? Moving expenses? Fees for breaking my lease? Is it ever perceived as insulting to make these requests?

I joined Mindtree on 8th Feb and not got project and I was waiting for last 2 and half month. So, i gave interview outside (tech mahindra) and got selected. Almost 30-35% they said they will give and i am negotiating on it.

My main concern was shift and i have some health issues and unable to continue in night shift in Mindtree and tech mahindra its purely EMEA shift and per project team update.

Shall i switch to tech Mahindra?

Has anyone used a professional service to find a new position? I’ve been applying for job (tinkering with my resume, doing development on my free time, and trying to reach out to recruiters on LI) for a while and haven’t gotten anywhere. I think my resume is solid, but more general experience than specific skills/titles. I can’t figure out why I’m not getting any responses, even for phone screens and wondering if using a service will help, especially with the time and stress.

I have never had a paralegal who made my life easier. I know there are some out there who are awesome, But I've had three who couldn't proofread or manage more than a basic filing. Their main jobs were taking smoke breaks and b*tching at me about time sheets. Has anyone else had similar experiences?

I'm looking to make the jump from a 10-lawyer firm to a mid-sized or larger firm in a major market, with just 1 year of experience as an associate. Is it too soon to lateral? Looking for more stability in workload and consistency in pay. Currently paid only when a partner gives me work... not ideal.

So my wife (a contractor) was recently let go (as were all contractors) of a business she was helping out. Before she was let go, they were regularly paying her a month + late from what was written in her contract.

Her last paycheck (due Sept 15) still hasn’t come, despite being told it’s in the mail now for over a week. It’s not a massive amount, but a few thousand.

Anyone have experience writing a demand letter and sending away on behalf of a family member in the hopes of prompt response?

If your getting pressured to submit something “asap/now/EOD” like how to do it without sacrificing quality. Like what a partner prefer me to say listen I’ll get it to you but it’s 70% there or let me work the rest of the night and it’ll be 85% lol I’m an associate that’s as much as I can give there’s there a perfect product.

2nd year here: When do you leave a firm because your not getting any work? I don’t want put details but it’s not due to lack of trying on my end. I’ve also been told I do good work and people like working with me. We also hired too many people this past year and partners hoard hours for bigger bonus. How long do I stick it out? I like my firm and don’t want to leave but I think I have to.
