@AD1 My understanding is this is a multi-million star deal. He’ll be getting his own line, shoes, etc. It isn’t just an ad. The NFL refuses to pay the man. So Nike will. Also, knowing Kapernick, some of that money will be going back into the community.

I’m also loving the fact there’s nothing the NFL can do about it given their decade-long contract.

So I’m here for it. Let the man have his shine.

Nobody thinks Nike is just capitalizing a little too late/when convenient for their own narrative on it while this gives his opponents more "proof" and ammunition to accuse him of selling out? I'm a lot more concerned about that and his efforts being exploited to sell Nike stuff😞

Now that I got the snark out of the system:

Colin Kaepernik, the guy in that ad, is an American NFL player (quarterback) who in the 2016 season started silently protesting against police brutality by taking a knee while the American anthem played before every game.

Republicans claim he’s insulting veterans and the American flag by doing so. He’s been shunned and no team has signed him because of it. Many players in various sports have joined in the protest.

Hell, Papa John’s ousted CEO & chairman even blamed low sales on the company sponsoring the NFL while it permitted these demonstrations.

I’m not American, so if I’m missing anything please point it out.

@AD1 Nike and NFL signed a 10-year contract earlier this year my guess is they intentional waited to do this till after that deal was signed. Plus NFL season is just starting so it’s pretty good timing.

I have 6.5 YOE in .net full stack development. My current CTC is 12 LPA and I got a new offer from a good product based company with 80% hike. And my current company is trying to retain me with 70% hike. Should I accepted counter from current company?

My manager made up lies, cited performance (me missing a word in an email), and me not engaging in "team pleasantries" What does that even mean? HR (who has not been helpful or supportive) at the very least saw this for what it was after the proof I provided and put these lies down to "miscommunication" How do I get through this while looking for a new job...?
