Got a random email from a supposed Amazon recruiter for a SDE position (which is not at all a fit). The email is amazon.com domain and there are no red flags in the body but it doesn't feel like an Amazon recruiter due to the tacky signature, etc. Has anyone seen this kind of cold-calling from FAANG recruiter?

Career and comp growth
In the long-term yes. Also year to year raises and bonuses are generally much higher. And promotions are faster and easier to get (you don’t have to wait for your manager to move up/retire to get a promo).

Some people don’t have the skills or network to exit to a comparable or higher paying role in industry, depending on their current level. Career progression is usually slower in industry so that’s another reason people stay.

OP, Fairfax Inova has a strong epidemiology department and research analytics group.
Good to know! I used to work at INOVA as an intern, would love to go back doing analyticswork.
If you have two years experience, I would stay a little longer until you get a solid mid to senior leadership experience. You’ll be able to negotiate better salary and higher level positions later on. But by all means, start networking with recruiters now and build that relationship.
These days it’s all telework
*Analyst with 2 years experience. Either stick it out longer in consulting to get a title bump or you will be entry level or entry level +1
Agreed that’s the goal so far. And consultant lol I’m in Advisory before analyst role existed 😅
Because I’m single and I probably will stay single for the foreseeable future :)
