When pitching for earned media content how many follow ups do you tend to send? I always send one but never know if two would be helpful or start to become annoying for the the reporter/news desk.

I think two is my usual max, the second one I usually send if I have updates (new visuals, assets) that I didn’t share in my initial pitch.

for broadcast news desks, I send follow ups and then call them to confirm! They’ll be able to give you a better answer over the phone

Depends: if it’s a more general pitch, I’ll follow up 2-3 times. If it is a pitch that I know is completely relevant and in the reporter’s wheelhouse-I’m following up like 4 times and leveraging other channels like Twitter or phone.

Net/net-if it’s a story I know they will want, I’ll follow up until I get a response. Anything else, pitching a few time.

It depends on the pitch if you think it’s something that really fits their audience follow-up a few times including phone or their social if they use it for work.

While most teachers are protected by teacher unions, I feel my voice hasn’t been heard at all with my concerns of going back to school next week. Our diocese has decided on full return 5 days/ week for all 42 schools despite a recent increase in COVID in our communities. Every other school that I know of in my state is either choosing remote learning to start the year or a hybrid approach, yet that was not an option for us. Are other Catholic schools I. The same boat? Stay safe!

Been in PR & w/ the same company now for 8 years, and every day I fantasize about submitting my resignation. Definitely think the pandemic has made it more clear how burnt out I am and how much I despise my job & the people I work with. However, not sure what my next move should be & also feel I don’t have the head space to really think about it while staying at my current job. Has anyone quit their job & taken time off to sort their next move? If so, was it career suicide or the best decision?

Does anyone have insight into current salary levels for VP roles at a larger agency (500+ employees)? I'm making the move from freelance and just got an offer for 165k, little to no bonuses. The job is in corporate, mostly purpose/ESG work. I know there are a couple threads on this, but with the current market, wondering if salaries have gone up at all. Thanks, in advance, for any feedback!

If a position for which I had a first round interview has since been put on hold, would it be reasonable to ask for an informational interview with the would-be hiring manager? In my experience, "on hold" has always been synonymous with cancelled. It’s frustrating and I like this particular agency, so I just want to make the most of this. Maybe there are other ways to handle these situations?
