When saving docs to the system, I notice some firms consistently put the project name first and title second, e.g., Project Mountain - Escrow Agreement. I don’t know why, but it bothers me not having the document title first. If for instance my browser/window is too small, all you see is Project Mountain—not Escrow Agreement. Also feel like it’s easier if you were to sort alphabetically. So unimportant, but is there a reason for project name first?

I feel like this actually makes a bit of sense and you made a pretty compelling argument, but ✨no✨

Bad take. Project name ALWAYS first

like

There may be 10,000 Escrow Agreements on the system but only one in Project Mountain. It is super helpful to identify the project or the parties to keep things organized. I personally prefer Buyer Name/Seller Name - Escrow Agreement if there is no project name being used.

like

To clarify, we do Title first and Name second. So Escrow Agreement - Project Mountain

Project name always first.

I already commented but coming back to this thread because I’m sick to my stomach and can’t stop thinking about this. OP is sick and needs locked up.

Do you really want all you escrow agreements listed together alphabetically or all your project ABC documents listed alphabetically in one place?

like

Clearly y’all need bigger screens 😉

keeps documents organized. you'd be surprised how often juniors, paralegals, practice assistants etc save things in the wrong folder. Also clients like to know what project they are looking at. Sometimes clients have multiple deals running at the same time and for them they want the project in the subject matter line of the email and the title right away for ease of reference.

I get what you’re saying, especially since each matter should have its own folder when saving in your DMS. My group does it the same as yours, but even worse - the client name goes first.

ABC Company/Project Beach - Master SaaS Agreement.

Be thankful you don’t have to include the client name as well.

I’m with OP 100%. The project name first makes it so hard to find docs in the file.

I’m starting to think that almost everything I do, outside of marking up an agreement, is completely inefficient and a waste of my time. For example, partners ask me to take hours to catch them up on our client’s business in addition to drafting all docs - isn’t that something you should know, partner? And if not, too lazy to get to know your client yourself?

Venting. Got hired on FT at a large in-house in NY. Every project I have been assigned to is due immediately, already late, and has no direction. Every project is supremely animation heavy with some hand painted animations… all out of my wheelhouse. None of this was mentioned in my interviews and no one seems to understand why a video editor does not have experience hand painting animations. Seems like a special skill set that should have been discussed before hiring. Confused and burnt out.

I’m having a sit down with my creative directors next week, they have some concerns. I’ve been doing well with my radio and tv assignments but not as well with my collateral and email assignments. I’m having trouble adopting the already established voice of the latter but the tv and radio work I get to create my own voice for each project. Any advice on how to plead my case of having some degree of difficulty and not intentional doing bad work?

Hi all, I am wondering if there are any relationship coaching professionals in the area.

Am a single guy late 20s, objectively great on paper (good looking, active, social, high TC, people say I’m “smart” lol)

All said, I’ve never been in a long term relationship and have come to the conclusion there must be something off about me that I can’t uncover or fix on my own.

Would love to work with someone so I can one day find a long term GF!

Thanks in advance
