I just gave mine the day after signing the offer letter. Nothing sketch on my background, and all is good.

If there’s wiggle room, then absolutely! I actually just got an offer letter with a starting date of 5/2. Im negotiating price currently but I’m hoping that goes by fast so I can have 3 weeks to give my 2 weeks….even though I’m taking 3 vacation days so I’m not sure when I should give it if I end up accepting the offer after all 😅

I waited til my background check was through but I had just gotten my identity stolen.

In my experience, YOU NEVER resign without a cleared background check. You never know what can happen. Identity theft, mistaken identity, delays with employment and education verification, some states require fingerprints to be completed. All of these instances are out of the candidate and employers control. If COVID-19 has showed me anything, it’s that everything can go wrong. Some states still haven’t completely recovered.

Would love to hear about your gardening leave experience, especially in the event production sector, i.e. Gartner, Forrester, etc. I’m planning my resignation and I’m unsure if I should plan my next endeavor around it. I plan to continue my career in event production but as an in-house producer for a solution provider, any advice would be greatly appreciated!

Is RPA sales engineering a good career pivot now? Have been in Cloud SE for 5 years and it is getting mundane. Forget about the Data and AI, realistically majority of the work is around VM migration + RFP + Pricing + pushing commit 2x more than customer's current need, instead of really adding technical and business value to the customer.

RPA seems to be on the rise, there are certainly risk but the value + technology seems to be closer to reality. Love to hear more.

Majority of my department has been informed we will need to look for other positions internally due to our jobs being outsourced. The timeframe for the full transition of all work to the vendors is approximately 6 months. This is the second time in 14 months I have had to look for another position due to outsourcing of work. Since I can only work remotely for my company due to location, is it best to resign or to hold out in hopes for a transition to another department?
