When solo travel in a major city in south east asia, would you choose (A) 3 star hotel for $60 per night or (B) decent/simple airbnb for $30 per night? 5 nights. Similar locations.

I’d probably go for the hotel if traveling by myself, for the option to meet other people sitting at the bar.

Five star hotel for $100/night. Best five star values in the world.

Private room in a nice hostel. Easy to meet other travelers.

Very much depends on the ratings for each.

Ceteris paribus, depends on your experience solo traveling. If you’re not used traveling solo, hotel is generally safer and easier to ask questions and stuff.

Ceteris paribus again, I’d choose the Airbnb because those hotels usually aren’t that much better either (only 3 stars). I’d spend the money on food

Probably Airbnb. I weighed that option in Bangkok and was personally very happy with the Airbnb.

Depends on where in east asia, but i’ve done hostels and airbnbs in Korea, Japan, and China and found them to be sufficiently clean and adequate, but not ~luxurious~ if that’s what you’re looking for

I prefer airbnbs but make sure it has air con

Met a guy on Grindr who was visiting my city for the week. We had dinner Friday night. Met up again Sat afternoon and spent a full 24 hours together. Enough in common to keep the conversation going, not get on my nerves, and enough chemistry to be attracted too. Is the next step plan a trip and hang out again for a day or two? I acknowledge jumping to anything more serious than travel buddies would be challenging and unlikely given the distance. Thoughts?

Sabbaticals. Anyone know of people who successfully took 3-6 months off to relax/travel/spend time with family and still land in-house? I am worried that this means you have a gap in your resume and companies will assume you were let go but I haven’t had a summer vacation in nearly a decade...

Edit - I know it is a pandemic and I wouldn’t be traveling. Even resting at home, exercising and Idk maybe baking sourdough sounds exciting to me.

So, a recruiter gave me feedback that my lack SPHR or SHRM-SCP is causing my resume to be knock out by AI and human recruiters despite my position and work history in Multinationals and being in Technology. They suggested that we put SPHR ( Lapsed). I let it lapse in 2017. What is your opinion? Plus if I were to take another certification - should I take SPHR or SHRM-SCP?

I think this Q is applicable to this bowl. My daughter is in 6th grade and plays a lot of sports. She sometimes has 4 or more games per day in a tournament. What are some good snacks or small meals she can eat between games? She is 11 and a little picky (ex. doesn’t like nuts). She needs something to give her energy but not too heavy in her stomach. Often only has 10mins between games to scarf something down. Ideas?
