Include all assets and debts, yes
Yes
C1 I see it as the same as counting TV, laptop, forks and spoons in your net worth. I understand fully what the legal and dictionary definition is of net worth. I just find it laughable nickel and diming.
Wow you’re really passionate about your depreciating auto hold up your net worth. I hope you too some day see how trivial a car is in the value of your self worth.
I have quite a few credit cards and I was never asked for my net worth when applying. It was about income.
It’s not a dodge. I don’t engage with peeps who don’t get true wealth. Enjoy your 🚗
Oh sweet mother. Really? I've always thought that money was something like a mirage where you could just see and feel happy about and nothing else. Good to know!
Yes all. I see some people include cars and find that somewhat laughable unless it’s a collectors item or if it’s there to counter the auto debt
Yes.
Why is including cars laughable? Your net worth includes financial and non financial assets and liablities. It isn't some flowery made up term, it has a real meaning in a legal sense. If a couple is going through a divorce and they need to determine the couple's net worth to allocate assets, you think they're going to ignore the car or the home's equity? Same with estate management when people die. Net worth means ALL assets.
Does giving a higher net worth translate to banks giving higher limits in credit cards?
So do you really not see the difference between an asset worth tens of thousands of dollars and forks and knives, or should I spell it out to you?
So I take the dodge as a no?
I think including car is acceptable only if you include it at resale value rather than what you paid for it (and then net off debt against it)
OP credit cards don’t care but when you get a mortgage or if you want to be an accredited investor these net worth assets do matter
Is asking your next worth a normal thing in your circle of friends? I do track it, and am quite comfortable, but I'd be mortified if someone asked me. It just leads to judging.
I don’t. Awkward convos
