When traveling for work, do you work on the plane? Yes/no, level, lob

I would if I had more room and the internet was actually useable.

95% of the time I don’t.

It’s bad enough traveling with other rude passengers and being choked out by wearing a mask the entire time.

D2 - who hurt you? 🤣

Sometimes but it's never productive. I like to use plane time as reading/me time.

like

Almost always for flights over the past 15 years. I am more productive on a plane with no distractions than anywhere else. I generally don’t purchase internet and would otherwise be bored so can get serious work done. I book my seat (exit row or bulk head if not upfront) so I don’t have anyone reclining into my laptop, throw on my noise cancelling headphones with driving lyric free music, and crank out more work in a few hours than I could ever achieve on the ground with the constant interruptions and distractions.

like

I always wish that I could but it ends up being rare. End up with T-Rex arms trying to type and spotty internet. Just not productive time and I can find other better uses for the time like relaxing/unwinding. Audit director btw.

like

Sometimes if I need to write time sensitive reports in transaction advisory.

like

I read emails. Use it as my downtime otherwise

like

In ten years in audit across various levels I’ve probably worked 4-5 times on a plane. As the others have said, it’s cramped, I’m tired, I just want to doze off, or read

like

Not since they shrunk the size of the seats… if I’m paying for an upgrade out of my pocket I’m going to enjoy it.

like

I never do because I get motion sickness. I relax, sleep and enjoy the movies.

like

Same. I can’t read anything or I want to barf. I usually take a Dramamine and listen to music.

Sometimes, Manager, Risk Consulting - Controls Integration

like

Rarely, probably 10% of the time.

like

Why do you ask?

funny

10 to 20 years ago, I worked on planes all the time. I still work now, but mostly reading (skimming) the Journal of Accountancy and Tax Adviser.

funny

It just depends. Probably about half my flights I do work and half I don’t. I always feel guilty if I don’t.

Would you feel comfortable telling HR that your service line’s culture sucks and name the individuals who cause it? Or is a better approach saying it’s the leadership in general creating a negative and toxic culture? How effective are these conversations really? Trying to assess if there’s any point in bringing this up. Obviously HR works for the company and an employee sharing their thoughts on the unsupportive, cold leaders could bite me in the long run.

What value do brand strategy consultancies like Siegel+Gale, Landor, Interbrand, etc bring to the table? Doesn't what ultimately get implemented by ad agencies primarily influence the brand strategy?

have a requirement to show an interactive scatter chart in Power Point from data stored in an Excel spreadsheet. Power Point and Excel files need to be in the same folder on a local machine and usable without an internet connection. I'm wondering if anyone has had a similar rewritten and, if yes, what was the approach and/or tools that you used?

I've researched using VBA but there are several examples and I'm wondering the most maintainable and user- friendly solution. Thx!
