Someone posted a "living through the coronavirus" personal journal assignment and I'm having my kids do a similar assignment. In fact, my whole department is having students do this as a way to emphasize the fact that they are living history right now! It's great for talking about primary vs. secondary sources, too!

I got sick with what I at first thought was stomach bug last Sunday (vomiting, fatigue, then crazy chills and body aches). Lasted 1 day. My nose was also a bit congested, so went to get a pcr on Monday and got a positive result. Tested again at 2 diff places on Wed - 2 negatives. All pcr. Had no symptoms since Sunday. Has anyone had something similar happen to them? Was it just false positive (everyone’s been saying that almost never happens), or just super mild case of Covid?

I have a brief resume gap from near the beginning of covid but have been at a new employer for >1 year. I’ve been asked about said gap during in-house interviews, but it’s generally been cursory and I give the explanation agreed upon by former employer. Was pressed a bit harder recently by being asked “will x former employer confirm [the story]?” Is this in and of itself a bad sign? Are they trying to catch a lie?

SO and I want to take some day trips to Queens and Brooklyn (in Manhattan but haven’t been able to explore much outside due to Covid). I had COVID recently and had a high-level HR staff member check in with me via email. There’s at least a 1,000 people in our segment so I’m wondering…is this check-in normal? Should I be worried? Why is that many(in SF especially) say they have not benefited or got anything from RSUs? Were they fired or they asked more of salary and less of RSUs? One would have thought these people who worked for top tech companies including Salesforce would have got "rich"(well off). I had always thought these people would have been OK by now after years of being in the Bay Area working for top tech companies yet they have "nothing" in their banks or assets. Some have had hefty 350K salary. So confused.
