Only bc a job posting indicates a class year, it’s more of a preference, and it should not stop you from applying anyway.

Do remember that six month bar that some firms reputedly have from reapplying so be selective

Your peak lateral years are 3-5, but things start to open up at 2 years. I wouldn't apply to 2020/21 jobs as a 23, you won't be considered right now. But for a 22, I would try it. You'll see more things open up in general come October for hiring in the new year.

Can you elaborate?

Like, there aren’t many job postings that indicate Class Year of 2023 can apply/will be considered. I’m wondering when job postings will start including 2023 in the range

I interviewed at a law firm and had my final round last Friday. The Tuesday afterward, I got a call from the recruiter saying the firm won’t have a decision for another week. I believe they’re interviewing other candidates. Does that make me second or third choice? And does the fact that I’m working with a recruiter hurt my chances of being selected due to the commission? Will those firms who have been successful managing through the pandemic and keeping people engaged and connected increase retention (crisis reveals character), particularly among the partner ranks leading to less lateral partner movement in 2021, or will the beginning of the post acute pandemic economy create more movement due to those who were dissatisfied pre pandemic and hunkered down this year?

I am in the final steps of the interview process for an in-house position. I mentioned to the recruiter that I had unvested equity I would be leaving on the table. She said the company would take this into account and make me whole. She later asked for proof of the equity in the form of my account statement and balance, which I provided. I have not yet received an offer. Is it typical for companies to ask for this documentation if they don't intend to make the candidate an offer?

A recruiter contacted me for a position I love. She says I’m a good match and will put my resume and cover letter into the “portal”….-What does that mean?
