Just blow your leaves into the neighbor’s yard. That’s what I do. Bonus points if you stare them in the eye without breaking eye contact while you do it.

When all the leaves have been blown

Lucky leaves.
Ha. This is a hot topic of conversation on my neighborhood Facebook page. Apparently if you’re doing it once or twice a season you’re OK. But if your lawn company is doing it every week, you should stop the pollution (both from the gas, and from the noise). And also what happened to raking the leaves and having your kids play in them. And also get noise-canceling headphones. That sums it up I think. First world problems, I guess!
Removing all the leaves is the wrong thing 2 do. Those leaves fertilize the ground and birds use dried leaves as a winter food source. I remove 3/4 of my leaves myself even though I could pay for it but then it wont be done the way I want.
You sound fun to be around
My neighborhood service does it EVERY. DAMN. WEEK. It's infuriating. I hate them.
I live in a strict HOA so I don’t have much of an option. My lawn crew comes weekly 🤷🏼♀️. I do find the never ending act of watering, fertilizing, weeding, mowing and maintaining grass to be an absurd concept. It’s so wasteful, expensive and time consuming, but in the states we all do it without questioning. I think the rock landscape looks nicer. I am forever curious what my city pays a year in just lawn maintenance around the city. It has to be in the millions.

Guilty
The fact that the yard services issue tarmac quality ear protection to their workers says everything. You can hear crews from a mile away and there’s always a crew somewhere within a mile radius any day of the week.
For the sake of some fucking fallen leaves we sacrifice each other’s and our own peace and quiet. They’re loud, inefficient, and polluting. It’s time to ban them.
The lawn services that blow leaves weekly spend 80% of the air time chasing after the last 10% of the leaves. Combine that with use of the louder gas blowers and having 2-3 going at the same time and it’s too much.

Ha. I spent 4.5 hours in the yard and two tanks of gas with the leaf blower yesterday... sorry!
My neighbor had hers on. 6 hours non stop, including a couple hours in the blowers noisier vacuum mode. Small backyard.
I get my revenge later this week when it’s my turn. Though I’ll only take a hour or two with the same sized yard.
Yes noise canceling ear buds or headphones is the easiest option short of leaving the house for a while.
What’s wrong with leaves?
Leaf blowing is such a weird concept to me vs the raking situation…but also, with ring and other home type security cameras, don’t be the person blowing them into other peoples yards, apparently that’s a findable offense in my area! Learn something new from my neighborhood page every day since being new to the neighborhood lol
My office window looks down at the area where the landscaping company gathers most of the leaves at my apartment complex. The noise is awful but it’s so cathartic to watch them use this giant hose to suction them all into the back of their truck
Leaf blowing stops when they’re covered with snow

If you had as many mature red oak trees in your front yard as I do, you'd understand that leaf blowers are essential. However, if you have a small yard and one tree, sure rake away!
Were you on same Zoom call this afternoon? Leaf blower full on especially when I needed to respond 🙄
In Manhattan where we have very few trees! 🤪
