Can someone guide me through the process for applying for remote jobs in the US or UK.
Like e.g. if i apply through LinkedIn for a remote US job, do i need to have a valid visa to be eligible for that job if no information is provided in the job description about location. Tata Consultancy Infosys Accenture Wipro Remote
I see little reason to go into an office. All of my calls are remote anyway.
Benefits of WFH:
*no wasted time in traffic - net over 1 hour a day
*increased productivity - longer hours possible since I'm not in traffic
*healthier diet - better control my intake versus eating out daily
*more quality sleep which drives productivity
*get to be present for my newborn
But some orgs want us in an office? Double my base, guarantee it for 3 years minimum, and cover my in-home child care costs, then you have my attention.
I work in recruiting and it’s shocking how reluctant the older generation is to offer remote or hybrid work. “we really need someone who is hands on” so in reality you want someone you can micromanage and keep under your thumb… ok. The reality is this only 10% of jobs advertised are fully remote while 60% of people are looking for remote work. Remote jobs get filled quickly and hybrid roles have a HUGE advantage bc of that gap. If your company isn’t open to a hybrid model, they are living in the dark ages and it’s only going to cause grief
You would think after having experienced a global pandemic and the constrictions it placed on the working world, even those who were resistant to remote work would have woken up and finally gotten on board. I can't believe that it's almost 2023 and there are still dinosaurs who think you can only truly be productive if your butt is in an office, behind a desk, with your manager keeping a watchful eye on you. It's so ridiculous. Unfortunately, if they haven't changed by now, they probably never will.
Big fan of the hybrid model
Personally, I'd prefer wfh also. I'm not even that old but we cannot deny the fact that it wfh is more beneficial.

Let's see how this position stands on the other side of a recession.
Anyone will work in the office 40 hours a week. Companies are just not offering the right salaries. BUT, people will gladly take less from that said company to work from home 40 hours. Companies are making out like bandits with remote work.
Oh. I think it depends upon each person. For me, I prefer hybrid because as much as I am comfortable working at home, I still long for the office setting.
The thing about this issue is that it should not be an issue at all. There is good reason to push for full remote work because young people can do it, it's possible and will not hinder a company's progress. People want to work it's just that companies are not embracing change.
