When working remotely stateside, east coast time, have you been able to pull off working remotely from Europe for a few weeks over summer? Especially with young kids? How did you manage? Bring an au pair? hire local? Too wild?

My husband has been working remotely from Europe. The things that have made this possible: his parents being with us as babysitters (ugh!), me joining for part of the trip and not working at all, and him keeping a mostly US schedule, meaning lots of evening calls. And it goes without saying having good internet is a must (ours has been spotty but cell service was good enough to do a hot spot).

Hey Fishes,
I am a software developer with ~4 years of experience. Recently I joined a coaching for preparation of some good companies like Google Amazon etc.. It is a small coaching class where I get coaching with 6 college students.
The issue is that the teacher we are having here is very strict, he will beat us like small kids and also make us murga for mistakes... At the same time he teaches superb good. Not sure if I should continue with the tution or not.

Hey ladies. I had a miscarriage July 2021 and my cycle started back up not long after. Then in January it just stopped. It’s been 3 months without my period and not sure what could be causing it (I’m not pregnant). My diet hasn’t changed and neither has my activity. I run marathons but I’ve been doing that for years now and it’s never impacted my period prior. I have an appointment to see my OB in a week but wondering if any of you experienced this.

2.5 year old wetting the bed 2x daily. We put a nighttime onesie on backwards which helps but still leaks through it quite a bit. We can’t do anything like that at daycare and he likes to put his hand down his diaper when he sleeps. What do we do??

A month ago I gave my boss a formal letter requesting a review of my current job duties and a salary adjustment and title change. I’m performing at a senior level and not being paid for it. She agreed with the argument and submitted request to HR. Last week I asked her for an update and she casually said it will probably take three more months bc HR is so backed up and dropped it. I’m grossly underpaid and getting more tasks daily. What can I do? Can this be retroactive? I’m so fed up.

A different kind of working mom post:

Many of you have young kids... are there any moms of teens here?

I am at a point where my teen's newfound "independence" is starting to impact my focus and time at work - his running off to hang with friends without permission, etc is becoming a distraction during the workday, and the impact has definitely been noticed by my superiors at work.

The issues with the kid are being handled appropriately - this is more about how to overcome perception at work

Would really love to help my lovely sister in law find a job in NYC or CT. She is a certified nutritionist, celebrity personal chef (her current job in Aspen but she is moving to Westport in January) and an all-around terrific, dedicated, hardworking person. She gets down around the holidays because she's single and doesn't have kids, but is an amazing aunt to our kids. Does anyone have any leads in the health/ wellness space? Im in biglaw and this is out of my depth a bit. TIA, Happy Holidays!

What is a useful, comprehensive but not too long of a book for parenting toddlers?

LO is 16 months old, very sweet and social, at the park every day with other kids with either me or her nanny. Not in day care. Yesterday we had a play date and she slapped another baby on the head. Not hard and did not scare her, but the act of “aggression” took me by surprise and I felt terrible about it. I’d like to be more proactive about toddler psychology, what’s to come and how to react/ teach. TY!

Need advice, my brother and his wife have a three month old and aren't the most cautious parents with my nephew. Yesterday, my SIL was giving him a bath and just left him in the tub on the counter to go run upstairs for something. Granted, the water came up to his chest and his head was angled out of the tub, bit still. Also, they leave him on the couch and walk away. I'm worried that when he starts rolling over he'll fall off because they will have developed this bad habit...
