What can I do in the next 4 months to boost my chances? Shooting for HSW and MIT, and want to do Tech/VC/Entrepreneurship after MBA. Background: Asian female, 3 YOE at big 4 consulting by round 1 deadline this year, 4 YOE by enrollment time Stats: GMAT 740, GPA 3.9 from big 10 public school Rec: those who know me well went to T20-25, those who went to M7 don't necessarily know me well EC: strong undergrad club leadership, none outside of firm initiatives since I started consulting
Has anyone here ever left a big 4 graduate scheme early? Were there negative consequences? How was it perceived ? Looking to go into something very different, as big corporate life is not for me..
A question for Big 4 peeps - if you know the salary range in the group you wanna go for is 150k to 170k, how much should you say when the HR asks you how much you want? Is 180k too much to start with? (Didn’t want to start with 170k since they will only come back with lower I assume)
Help! I’m from a general strategy consulting background (big 4) and have some experience in large scale transformations as well. I know joining tech companies seems to be a good move right now, but I’d like to understand, what are the best types of roles that ex consultants could seamlessly move to? I heard Product Managers, Product Owners, Program Managers, but are there any others? I want to exit for sure but I don’t want to make a short term decision I regret.
Is it normal for teams to lose it on each other on a regular basis? I’m fairly new to the B4 and never experienced it at former firms. It starts at the top and it’s starting to take a toll on my performance. Not sure if I need to suck it up and deal with it or start thinking about changing teams. TIA
How’s the consulting work life balance at Big 4 in Europe Do folks work more than 45 hours through the week and is it normal to have to work on weekends?

Prior to this ive only ever done FS operations focused consulting i.e. mix of implementation & operating model development/assessment. Hours usually 830-7. Got an offer for a strategy role at a big 4. What are the average hours like? Am I going to regret this?
How does Stax consulting compare to Big 4 M&A strategy diligence and value creation groups? Regarding work, reputation, etc
If I don't get fired before the Xmas party I'm safe right? Like they won't fire me after the Xmas party unless I do something else. I figure they would've fired me b4 the party if they were going to

Got an offer from a small consulting firm, in the city I want to live in, for the salary that I wanted, and doing the work I like. I'm really worried about the "small" company issue. Pros and cons?
I’d love some help thinking through this. I’m currently renting for $1600 base ($1800 total) and live in the least desirable part of town, and expect it to raise to about $2k/month. I was planning to buy my first property in the city and Airbnb part of it, but it will take me about a year to save up the cash (~$500k starting). Eventual goal is to move more rural but trying to build to FI. I found a property in my ideal dream location for $280k but it needs work, and can’t Airbnb it. Continued
So I started at a new role at a known retailer about 2 months ago. I am their first hire in this role, as I have more than 5 years of relevant experience leading initiatives and optimizing process across departments. While I understand it takes time to adjust to the culture, its seems like all I have witnessed is resistance to change. I already feel myself not wanting to be here long, but I'm putting pressure on myself to not be a quitter. Would you stick it out or start looking?
Currently a Senior Consultant and planning to apply at McKinsey and Bain. I was wondering if anyone would be willing to provide a referral?
“Going to the restroom to rub one out”, 31 year-old female manager whispers to me after meeting with physically attractive male client. Confused - Is this type of banter common? 😧 Was she serious?
If you apply to an audit client, how restrictive is it? Would you need to let your company know, even if you are just applying? I am in consulting so I have never been on an audit engagement. I hear if you do exit, you will have additional paperwork to fill but for the most part, is it easy/not a big deal?
looking to jump ship. going to be rusty with interviews. what sorts of questions do they ask experienced hires for consulting?
Interviewing as a Finance Manager for a company halfway across the country. Relocation hasn’t been brought up yet. They know I’m out of state. Can I assume relocation will be offered since they didn’t say it wasn’t? Should I ask before going onto the final round of interviews? Company is owned by Fortune 500 company and has over $250 m in revenue. Also what could I expect to be included in the package? I’ll be a individual contributor.

Looking for some advice. I made 150k on GME but then lost 100k in the hype. Despite coming out net positive I feel like an idiot for being where I started after gaining so much. I recognize I broke a lot of my trading rules and I essentially was trading on emotion which lead to my loss. If it matters my portfolio is about 80k and I make about the same in salary. So this was the most money I’ve ever handled or even traded. Advice?
Just need to vent: my friend refuses to bring up the topic of covid and how it will likely effect her wedding. She’s just moving forward like we aren’t in a pandemic and it’s becoming exhausting trying to be supportive and excited for her when it feels like she’s living in a fantasy world. She just had us purchase bridesmaids dresses and I can’t help but feel like it was a complete waste of a few hundred dollars. I feel bad for having these thoughts but I’m over it.
Can someone explain the )4k incentive to the 401k account that EY mentioned in their daily news today? Don't get it.
