I can't help but feel disappointed about the work we're doing. Like if I was a client, I wouldn't feel great about hiring my own team. I work to improve quality but just a lowly C under time pressure

Left big 4 as a manager for a controller role (smaller company, team of 5 direct reports). Getting tired of the role and thinking now that some sort of client serving or professional services role is better suited for me. Still clueless though on what my move should be, and don't want to move to a role I don't like again.

Little sister started college has done dating, drugs, alcohol, and sex in the 1st month already.

I'm her very vanilla older brother (i.e. never done any of the above). Feeling overwhelmed with the tmi.

Anyone deal with this, how do you handle it? I like the fact she trusts me enough to talk to me freely but I have no idea how Im supposed to give her the guidance she's looking / asking for. Feeling more unqualified than as when I'm introduced as a SME to a new client.

I was asked to do a take home assignment for a product design role which the company loved. They invited me to do a final interview this week. The interview will be with different groups of people (engineers, designers, etc.) and I'll be talking to each group for 30 minutes. I wasn't told anything else about the interview.

I'm definitely preparing to discuss my take home assignment project, but is it wise or a waste of time to prepare a slide deck for my portfolio projects?

Currently, I've been offer a 12 month contract role (50% pay increase) at Cognizant to implement/support an application for a client they support.

However, I recently found out that if I do ever get approach to be converted as a FTE, I would be an employee of Cognizant, not with the actual client.

Is this a valid statement?
