When you all give your resume spiel during interviews do you reference your current company in the beginning or end?

I actually do it the other way around as I feel it shows my journey/growth over time.

If they generically ask you to talk about your resume, go in chronological order - past roles up to current. This will provide a logical flow leading you up to your current situation. Starting current then having to go back to beginning is awkward and you will end up having to repeat yourself when you make it back to your last transition/final role. I used to interview multiple people per day… trust me. Unless of course the interviewer asked you something specific that would warrant a different approach. And for the love of god make it brief per role and let the interviewer ask questions to expand per role if needed.

Recent first

It depends on what they ask. But if they ask me to describe myself I might talk about last job and why I am a perfect fit

Generally your most recent experience will involve the most senior position/role you’ve held, so focus on it the most. Start or end won’t matter too much, but I’d lean towards starting with it.

As someone that worked for a long time and my last job before joining Deloitte 4 years ago lasted a long time that's usually where I "end", I start with what I'm doing today which would be the most relevant work for the job I'm interviewing for then I briefly cover what I did at the job before Deloitte. Interviewers don't care to much what you did over 6 to 10 years ago anyways if your hiring for a technical role involving IT. Now if you only have a few yoe and only been at a couple places then it might make sense to start with your oldest job first and lead up to today's time if that's not much more than 4-5 years.

I start with the general stuff I'm interested and have experience in, so the resume read out is less about chronology and more about how I know what I'm looking for (and blah blah company is a great fit for me for the same reasons)
